I think there are about three or four people living in that house in their early 30s or late 20s from the looks of them, and they seem not be gone for long periods of time, going in and out frequently.. We do talk to our neighbors who are often out working in their yards, or playing with their kids.
I know all of the neighbors around us, except this one house (who probably don't come out since they see the rest of us actually working to keep things looking nice), and it's our fault? I guess we didn't take them a welcome fruit basket when they moved in 2 years ago and that is probably why they don't talk to any of their neighbors.
Our neighbors do help each other out. When Mike was hurt the neighbor would snow blow my driveway. Now if the snow gets deep we snow blow theirs. Our neighbor behind us doesn't have a dog so they ask for our lab go out and play with their kids in the summer. We cut down a tree in our backyard at our own expense so that our neighbors could have sun on their little vegetable gardens. My point is you are making assumptions about who we know and what kind of community we have incorrectly.
Helping out is a two way street, which is unrelated to having four able bodied adults, zero kids or animals, and letting your grass get a foot long. In fact, when they do cut their lawn they don't bag it and its usually so long that it doesnt mulch. So even after they cut the lawn their yard still looks like trash. If you buy a house in a township or an association and you know the rules about how long the grass should get, or any other rule, and you should abide by it. It's not like these are new rules being imposed by some crazy grass dictator. What is so fucking hard to understand about personal responsibility for maintaining your own shit?

Gee, kinda hurts when people make assumptions about you without bothering to ask first, doesn't it?

BTW, my yard looks like shit.

Not too happy about it either, but that's what happens when you're home only one weekend a month and your wife 'forgets' to pay the landscaper.

Yanked out all the shrubbery and rosebushes- just grass now. I can do the entire lot in an hour now. Once the weather allows me to seed it should look better.

What exact assumption was made besides you assuming Kerry and the people in our sub don't care about each other? I don't include myself because we all know I don't give a fukc .

Why does your yard look like shit? By the way you describe it your neighbors should have came over and gang raped your yard like the Amish raising a barn and taken care of that for you while you were gone.

It doesn't hurt me at allbut I am also not a dumbass that needs someone to come remind me every month that my lawn is a foot long either.. so maybe I should assume they are and go knock on their door instead of letting the people PAID to do that service do their job. I can also quickly figure out that people in our neighborhood call the city quickly(we arent the only ones who have done it fyi) and that it's cheaper for a gallon of gas then it is to get a $50 fine.

Are you suggesting I just burn a message into their lawn next time?

As a matter of fact, they did.

Yard looks like shit because of the bare spots where I removed the shrubs and rosebushes. I guess you were too busy formulating your witty response to read that in my original post.

At any rate, when you and Kerryann are done being pissed at me for being a dick, just try to keep in mind that there may be things going on with ypur neighbor you aren't aware of.

Or they could be dirtballs.

But I would hate to have to accept that dirtballs can afford to live on your street. Lol

I can't wait for this cold shit to be over with. i bought 200 lbs of commercial grass seed last week, i'm waiting till it's nice out to plant. some jackass over the winter took out my stone border around my pine tree i need to fix, and my driveway is rutted from this soft ass ground. so little time so much to do. I actually want my house to look nice, my problem is always time and or money. usually i have neither.

I hear ya, being on the road all the time makes home maintenance difficult and expensive.

Foreclosed property should be maintained by the bank or Mortgage company. There should be a sticker in a window on the front stating what company is maintaining it. Call them.

My neighbor is the person who gets paid to mow lawns if they aren't mowed, and charge me. If I go a week and a day, when it didn't rain, I get a notice to cut my lawn, even when his lawn is 3x the height of mine. Fucking trailer trash asshole

I think they may have been in that limbo between when the owners walked away and the mortgage holder realized the property was vacant.

We only have one foreclosure house left on the block, but it cannot be sold until they figure out which lender actually owns it. The realtor is doing the upkeep, he's looking to snap it up as soon as it's legally available.
Nice house, too. I wanted to buy it and bulldoze mine.
