1. Define wealthy for my own stupid sense of curiosity.

2. And if I fit within the criterion for wealthy, do you think I should pay more in taxes. If so can you explain why you think that this is right and just?

3. Am I to understand that you do not have health care, or was that para-phrasing?

4. Does the career that you have not provide good health insurance through your employer?

5. Do you actually cast a vote?

I have a concern with our guberment printing money that is not being backed up by Gross National Product. I fear that we may get into a runaway inflation scenereo. What are your thoughts oh wise ones that have more experience in Economics than myself. Does Germany post WWI ring a bell?

Why this issue isn't on page one and Rush name calling is just baffles me.

We are literally on the edge of a complete melt down. The only reason our streets don't look like Greece is because the fed keeps printing, but it can not continue for much longer.

Another reason we can't re elect obama. Yes Bush spent a shit ton of money, but nothing compared to what is happening now.
We can tax "the rich" at 100% and it will do nothing.

Europe is about to collapse and compared to our GDP we are worse off than they are.

I believe you to be 100% on point with this comment, and it's very concerning.

I can't figure out why this is not a major campainging point with the Republican crop. If I were running for office, my economic plan would be to encourage Ameican industry and develope methods to control trade inequalities, ex.: mirroring trade restrictions other countries impose on us. Should a country limit their imports from us or imposes huge tarrifs on our goods, we shall do the same to them. I would also reduce if not eliminate guberment bailouts. Business failure is essential to cull the weak from the economic stream and allow the stronger to produce a better product. Since our nanny state has stepped in to save those that made poor business decisions, we now have a sub-standard business culture that really is no longer a world class provider of goods.

Just my thoughts. I figure I couldn't be any worse at running our country than the current crop of morons.

so i just made it back on Monday from California with my new(to me) 1980 IH scout Traveler Diesel, does any one out there know where i can possibly find a junk yard around here with some old donors laying around. we drove it home so its reliable enough to go 2202mi with no major break downs but needs some TLC like any old truck. parts needed the most: turbo, air cleaner(box), heater core, and it'd be great to have a shop manual too. engine is an sd33-t, I do not know why the turbo was taken off or where it went to, the guy I bought it from never had a turbo on it either.
Here's a link to Chilton's for the Scout II, they do list a diesel under repairs. Might help, might not. I didn't see anything about turbos while I was in there.

I'd really like to see the wealthy people of this country hit the cash out button and go on strike just to see how quickly the system crumbles when the goose up and says, "Fuck you I'm taking my golden eggs and going home."

I'm so fucking sick and tired of everyone in this god damn country feeling like they should be able to make decisions on how others should live their lives or what other should or shouldn't have when half of them can't live their own piss poor lives worth a fukc . Jesus fucking Christ, where is it my place, your place, Obama's place, or anyone's place to decide whether or not the "evil rich man" should give up more of his income to support the "do nothing dirt asses" of our society?

I'm pretty sure we fell over that edge already, it's just that almost no one has opened their eyes to see the ground coming at them at terminal velocity.

Both sides fukc us... just in different ways. I fucking hate politicians. I'll be voting third party because they all suck. They are ALL out for themselves and their own agendas anymore. I don't believe any one of them gives a damn about this country.

I agree on principal to what you'd like to see.

It actually would be good for worldwide development in my eyes, not just our own.

It would drive the cost of all goods down to equalize trading tarrifs and taxes, but there are things like NAFTA (thank another DEM) that make those things a bit more difficult to accomplish.

Iíll start by quoting myself:

I think everyone should pay more taxes. Yes, thatís what I said. Everyone should pay more taxes. As Iíve said numerous times in these discussions, income taxes right now are near historic lows. During the 1940ís, Ď50ís and Ď60ís taxes were much higher, with the top rates over 90%. It seems that past generations understood that fighting wars and building infrastructure cost money, and if you wanted to do those things you need to pay for them. Weíve gotten fat and lazy, using the infrastructure that our ancestors built, putting little into it while crumbles, and when something does need to be done we borrow the money and send the bill to future generations. Itís high time for us to start paying our own way.

Mostly I was speaking hypothetically, from the standpoint of someone who doesnít have health care. Most companies that employ people in my profession (automotive design) provide health insurance, but many of the contract shops contribute little or nothing to the cost. Also, we tend to move around a lot, switching employers depending on who has the work. This can lead to getting stuck in waiting periods and with preexisting condition clauses. As I recently went from contract to direct I am in such a situation now.
I know what youíre thinking, youíre pulling out the standard rightist response that if someone doesnít have health insurance it must be because they are too stupid and lazy to get a good enough job that provides health insurance. The reality is that few companies are providing health insurance, so even if you have health insurance today, itís possible that you could find yourself in the ranks of the ďstupid and lazyĒ who donít.

Yes.

But all of this misses the point. The question isnít why should me or you support Obama, it was why do Obama supporters support Obama. If you donít have health care coverage, and someone tell you they have a plan to get it for you, are you going to say ďoh no, please, Iím too stupid and lazy to be worthy of receiving health care coverageĒ? Of course not. Youíre going to see him as someone who is looking out for your best interests and support him.

Well everything is relative. Please define as you so eloquently put it "A shit-ton of money", again unless that part was missed, for my own stupid sence of curiousity.

Is it always someone from the right? Oh, I guess I am not up on that. Please expound on this for me as I am really curious as to the other discussions you have taken part in regarding "class warfare" and what that exactly means and if it is even really important to me.

If by stating that everybody should pay more taxes, are you insinuating that everybody, and I mean eveybody's contribution to society should increase, then what happens when that additional money is diverted to programs that facilitate an environment for those who refuse to contribute? Please do tell.....

Don't make the assumption to catagorize me into a group that you define as "fat and lazy". You don't know me at all, and if you did, you'd laugh at that notion. For the record, I was just asking questions, I felt were valid, and certainly not directing them at you, but to you. Don't make the detrimental mistake of assuming based on what you've read of what I'v posted, that you or anyone else on here has the slightest idea of what cloth my life is cut from.

It is time for, those that do not right now, to start paying their own way, I agree.

I am very sorry that you find yourself in a situation that you have a pre-existing condition that requires attention, and the coverage right now for you is lacking.
