also, to build a full out H1 out of this body would cost a lot of money and not be worth it. but building one with minimal interior(military style) would make the cost lower. i dont need a nice interior in a vehicle that im going off roading in

It sure was a blast to go wheeling in. It felt like you were wheeling in an unstoppable school bus.

Yeah, that was a cool one, he let me drive it a few times at the mounds. Seemed pretty much unstoppable.

We found out how non-unstoppable it was one day.

I wonder if I have pictures anywhere of that...

All I remember was sitting in the passenger seat being waist deep in water and a considerable amount of winching.

To Ranger dude and Johnny, relax guys. Just because some people don't think it's a great idea doesn't mean you need to get all worked up over it.

To me, they're not my thing. I'm much more of a functional over looks kinda guy. That's the difference between Renegade II and me. I like to wheel. He likes to look at his purty wheels in his barn. Oh well, to each his own.............

I would much rather be talking about where I can find a sub $200 5.3.

FYI: That's the first serious, non hummer kit, thing I've said in this thread.

He said we could compare grades. He didn't say he was going to be the victor.

Edit: By the way, I did horrible in college. I had fun. Well as much fun as a budding alcoholic can have in Flint.

Im the same way..

I understand there are some people that have nothing better to do then run off at the mouth here. I have met a couple of these people in person and they dont have much to say when you see them face to face.

I said what I had to say and the key board tough guys can keep talking down on this guy because he wants to build and not buy....

Built Rigs get WAY MORE respect by real wheelers no matter how wheel they do. I bet you would have more people gathering around your built rig than any other out there with just lift, tires, winch, and bumpers.

ok...ok... i'll share this info with the world.

http://www.u-pullandsave.com/

this is located in Holt, MI
prices on parts are posted. and dont go over stated price. thats why i like this place. they dont charge you more for a different engine/part. they treat all parts the same, no matter what it came out of.

engines are 150 before core. without accessories. but my buddy got his 5.3 with everything inclusing harness for 190. it did end up needing a rebuild tho

they even have an up to date inventory of vehicles.... not parts

Damn you...don't share it. Now I'm double fucked for getting my discount motor.

I would still pay 190 for one that needed to be rebuilt. As long as it wasn't a giant box of parts pulled out of the crusher.

Well at least something good is coming out of this thread. I think I just got an offer to either get my ass kicked, get some life/financial planning, or be someone's new girlfriend.

I would like to build something as well.... Just dont know what...

Soo for all you lames asses that have something bad to say and want to knock a guy for wanting to build his own rigs... I think its just because you dont have the drive to get off your ass and stop eatting cheese puffs... go buy something and put tires and lift on it and you will feel like you did something.
you sir, are a bad bad dude, I look up to you.

again, I look up to you, you are tough in person, so people are afraid to run their sausage washers to your face, and, your avatar is pretty gay (fact), and who is comparing built rigs to bought rigs?

a Real hummer is cooler than a chevy truck with a hummer body, even if the real hummer is bone stock....but you already knew that, you're really cool....this thread proved it.

Problem there is pretty much everything is 2000 or older. A few 2003, 2004, and 2005 and those are things like Kia Sedona's etc, nothing newer.
