Default Camp ground ideas?

I usually take a week off the end of july. Me the wife and my 4 year old are looking for a nice camp ground in the lower peninsula , something with a few activities or stuff to do in the surounding area to fill the time. I got a 25' camper so i would like electric and water hook up. Any suggestions?

Rose Lake, LeRoy has a nice campground. And you can visit a self milking dairy farm,Gingrich's. There are a lot of activities in Cadillac. Campgrounds there too. But Rose lake is smaller quieter.
Exotic wildlife breeder close by. Plus Bald Eagles right on Rose Lake. Not far from Mesick, offroad park. Lots of 2 tracks.

The Rose Lake Campground has shitty water. It made the water heater in our camper stink for the rest of the season. And the cattle farm is at the entrance, so you get the incredible smell all the time.

Turtle Lake Campground in Benzie County (not to be confused w/Turtle Lake Resort...nudist resort in southern Mi!) has been undergoing some major renovation and expansion.

They have quite a bit of fun for kids....wagon rides (tractor pulled), a small lake w/beach for swimming, kayaking, canoeing, playground, adjoins State land/seasonal roads & trails, etc.

Lake Michigan, canoe/kayak trips, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Traverse City, Frankfort, etc. all with a 1/2 hour or less drive.

Check them out at:

turtlelakecampground.net

The roads in the campground are gravel however if that makes a difference.

Dairy farm is there but cows are now at the corner of 18+ 140th. Never had heard of bad water. Does your tank have a rod in it like a house tank?
There are a lot if places around here.
Some expensive some not. Shouldn't be hard to find a nice place, by what your interested in.

Wilderness state park, near Mackinaw city. A ton of hiking trails, The big lake is right there and between Mackinaw City, Mackinaw Island and St. Ignace there is a huge variety of things to visit and see.

Also Old Mill Creek campground near Mackinaw is great for kids, trout pond, pool, arcade, mini golf, paved roads for riding bikes, and the coolest playground ever... It has a bunch of old farm tractors to play on along with your normal playground stuff.

Trust me, you do not want to go there. Unless naked retirees are your thing.

Here's the link to Old Mill Creek http://www.campmackinaw.com/home.htm They also just built a 310 acre golf course on the campgrounds northern end. It was voted #1 family campground in Michigan by the Detroit news. It has been owned by the same Family since it opened in 1964. Some of the first memories I have as a kid was playing on the tractors in the playground, Playing on a tractor is pretty awesome when your 3-4 years old. Actually it's still fun.

I grew up across the lake from there. Took the boat by once and quickly realized Internet porn was the ticket.
