Actually, put some good beadlocks on it and good tires, then get rid of the spare tire carrier and make a baja style tire carrier with the tire in the bed and I think it would actually like it. Which is suprising because I hate Jeeps of any vintage.

I'm still on the fence.

I don't think I'd give up my back seat and my rear doors to make a quasi-pickup out of my JK, but to each his own.

I'd be curious to see a top and mid gate kinda like the Avalanche on a JKU. I'm not sure if something could be made to work and still keep the roll bar though...

Mopar offers that conversation kit. Szott Jeep in White lake had one for sale just recently.

It look sweet and would probably turn a bunch of heads driving around town, but functionally, still the same as any other Jeep.

...Thus rendering the work put into the Jeep to create a usable bed space useless.

What usable bed space are you talking about? Nothing changes that the JK is made out of .0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 0001" sheet metal.

I'm not sure if I can find it... But I read at one point when a company did a full cage conversion on a JKU the whole body flexed out of shape when they pulled out the factory cage. Take that with a grain of salt since I can't find the link.

Huh? Who cares about body flex. I would assume if you make a bed the sheet metal has been reworked a little. I don't get your point. Settle down.

Let me clarify. That "space" looks like it was created to haul a light amount of gear (camping, sports, tools, etc.) not throw a spare tire in, hence the spare tire carrier.

I'd take the light bar, winch, axles and t-case...........not much use for the rest of it.

My wife and I looked at buying a new rubicon, they were $34,000 back when we bought the 2005 we have now, I feel like I got a steel on the one we bought for 14,000, which seams like the cost is way out their for taking it out wheeling and beeting the shit out of it, however 14,000 is about the cost af a fancy Razor or a couple of quads.

The point is, I have more fun with the scratched up jeep that we have, taking it out four wheeling than a show piece that you get worried driving through a mud puddle.

The jeep in the pic is awesome, if you like parking it at the back of the lot on an angle taking up three spots because you are afraid some one will door ding you,

I would rather have something reliable that I can wheel the shit out of it.

It has rock sliders. Door dings and rock sliders are fun. Just ask the chick who has the parking spot next to me
