You know I am not a chevy guy so I really do not know. I believe that it is a dana 44 front but the rear I have no idea. The front is passenger drop.

Count the bolts on the rear cover, its either a 10 or 12 bolt. #of bolts = #bolt axle

Bummer that it's a 1979. If it had been a 1972-1977 I could have used the front axle.

I don't know the specifics, but I can only swap the spindles and calipers from a '72-'77 Chevy 1/2 ton onto our Early Bronco D44. It's one of those well documented internet recipes. Is '79 not 5x5.5 lug maybe?

He means, he needs the spindles from an early chevy to put on a 44 knuckles so he can run ford hub and rotor 5 X 5 1/2 pattern.
