Default The U of M Hospital WOW Updated

I had to go there today for a test, and all i can say is that place is GIANT.

I know they are a great Medical Facility and are good at what they do, but i never knew that it was a small city.

Best part is I was able to take my 9 year old who is a Huge U of M fan, and we went and took pictures of him in frt of the big House. You would of thought it was Christmas morning.

That is all

Awesome facility and awesome staff, both from the patient side and from the EMT side. Glad you had a good experience and got to show your kid the Big House.

And yes, it's huge. You probably saw the main center. Now take that building and know that they have 2 more that size (Taubman Center and CS Mott Childrens Hospital) right in the same complex. Not to mention all of the clinics in the area as well.

I forgot to give props to the staff, the nicest and most caring hospital staff I have yet to encounter, and as some of you know I have had my share of trips to the hospital.

I was told a year ago last January at Lemmon-Holton Cancer Center in Grand Rapids that I had 4-6 months on the short side to a year to live. Went to U. of M. in July and have had 2 different types of treatments and still feeling good. They are working on another Clinical Trial for me to get into at this time.

Greatest place on earth!

It's been years since I've been to U of M hospital. Had my heart surgery at U of M when I was 5 years old (that was 1989). They had a great staff then too.

Man, I have spent probably a cumulative total of 100 days there, I have been in every department except oncology. The new Mott's is the best facility in the world, bar none. The only thing that sucks is PARKING, it couldn't be worse. You learn early to park Valet, they will bring your car to any exit with a Valet stand, so if you enter the main hospital, you can pick up at Oncology, CVC, or any one of 8 other exits.

You should see the Cleveland Clinic, It spans 3 or 4 city blocks. Has bridges going over the streets. It sucks being from out of town trying to figure out where you are supposed to be going

If you go during the day, and have time, a short walk will take you to their excellent museum. Might make a trip for a child a bit more fun. :)

I will be there tomorrow morning for surgery on my esophagus so I can eat again. Really awesome experience after many visits and 4 feeding tubes.
