looking for better isp
I have att DSL 6 meg for $20 with 150 gig downloads
I just hit my gig limit for the month due to 3 new smartphones.
They want $10 for the next 50 gig, ($240 a year +$10 every time over the limit)
Thinking about att uverse 12 meg for $30 with 250 gig but the router and install is $250.
($610 first year)
What's your standalone internet cost and speeds?
Is there a limit on charter or comcast?
Whats everyone in Fenton using?

Weird, I didn't know that DSL caps ran with your smartphone's bandwidth?
If within city of Fenton proper, then I believe your options are:
• AT&T Uverse
• Your wireless/cell vendor and tethering
• Tri-County Wireless
We're on charter. I haven't ever hit any limit, unknown or known. Roughly once per quarter something fuxks up so bad that it virtually dies, and seemingly I'm the only one that has a problem until I report it, and then ask for a time-table for repairs - only to find out there's a problem in the area.
Since 2007 I have had to have the entire line from the box, to the house, and everything from the outer wall inside the house all rewired a total of 3x (per the tech responding - each time they try to bill me, and each time I have pointed out that every cable they pulled, every splitter/junction they replaced was their very own)
I am currently not on a promo plan, it's ~$40/mo for 15meg connection I think. Their Cable TV plans are a joke. We have the HD package with one box, and I swear it's a conspiracy - the other tvs in the house with analog connections look fine. choose an analog channel on the one with the box, and it looks as pixelated as a 16 bit mario cart game... essentially forcing you to chose an HD channel on the one with the box - and don't get me started on their laughable price to bundle a land-line phone into the equation - we dumped that part for good a couple of years ago.
