Default 1992 S-10 reg cab - $550 !!NEW PRICE!!

Selling a 1992 Chevrolet S-10 regular cab 2wd 5spd. It does need some work, could definitely be a good summer beater. Has some dents n dings on the body, sunroof opening has been filled with a piece of plexiglass and sealed to stop water leaks. The driver door needs new hinge brackets on the body, therefore the door does not work. The body itself is in decent shape overall, the floorboard on driver side is starting to go but there are no holes as of yet. It has about 130k miles on the clock (not for sure on mileage as I have not checked it) but has had a newer engine installed into it. It is a 2.8L 5 speed manual, runs good drives good but could use some new shocks. Has a bench seat which was modified by the p/o (pics to come later). Cab forward is spray bombed flat black, and the bed (recently added, lol) is blue.
Definitely not the best looking truck, but for $550 what do you expect? Like I said it would make a great summer beater vehicle. Text (989)413-2151 or PM me on here if interested.
NO TRADES! WILL NEED A BATTERY TO DRIVE AWAY! Battery in the truck does NOT sell with the truck.

NOTE: Rear wheels in the picture DO NOT sell with the truck. Will have a set of old GM steel wheels w/ good tires on them on it when sold. The full set of the Keystone Classic wheels can be sold separately for $400 added onto price.

I have had a dozen plus first gen s10's. They are great little trucks.
"the door does not work" um the little bs brass busings are shot causing the door to sag a inch and making the door only close if you slam it. Or the pillar attaching to hinges has rusted/cracked causing the door to sag like 3 inches making the door require some serious lifting to close? They both can be fixed(or upgrade to a different hinge style) but it is a hour or a few days difference between jobs.

The bushing are not the only reason for the door issues, they have been effed up since before my buddy got the truck. The body itself is in great shape other than the floor board on the driver side. The pillar itself is solid, as is the b-pillar around the door striker. The top hole on the upper driver side bracket is ripped out (Theres nothing there to keep the pin in alignment on top). The bottom hole of the upper bracket is also broke but there is enough material to keep the pin in place and prevent the door from completely dropping.
I agree that it wouldnt take much to fix the door at all - just a couple brackets on the driver side pillar and a door pin kit and it would be good to go.

The bracket has been bad for so long, the door has sagged down so low and for so long that the latch mechanism in the door is TOAST! There is no fixing it - contact with the striker has destroyed it to the point that it wont unlatch anymore, and by some miracle of god that you do get the door to open (broke the door handle trying to open it when it first started f***in up), it takes upwards of an hour and a variety of different handling positions and slamming the door to get it to latch again.

I am not in any way saying that this is a bad truck, bc frankly its anything but that. This S10 has just been subjected to all the wrong situations, and has some battle scars to prove it. When parked alongside my '86 S10 this truck looks like a pile, but only for reasons out of its control. The 2.8 in this thing is absolutely indestructible. It has been driven to hell and back but just keeps on going. On any given day I can go out there and hit the key and, provided theres a charge in the battery, it will fire right up. I've heard newer GM cars almost right off the factory line not start up as fast as this little beast (a particular 05 3400sfi Impala, for example) does. Even on bad tbi injector o-rings, we drove it from Owosso on a 2.5hr drive to Gaylord, MI and back without so much as one issue.

UPDATE:
I got some pictures of the truck...inside, outside, underside frame and body mounts, etc. They will be uploaded tomorrow or Thursday at the latest. I threw a battery in it and she fired right up - just put a battery in her and she's good to drive away I guarantee it.
$625 bottom dollar price.

It is not a bad looking truck. I have had a lot worse.

From what I can see that bed looks like it is in good shape. You can rip that bed off and it will fetch $250 easy. The truck without the bed should get you at least $350 as long as you can not put your hand through the frame.

If I had room for this I would have this. But, currently I have 4 projects and no room or time. The 2.8 is a good engine. These things are CHEAP and simple to fix. The 5 speed and 4.11 rear end gives this thing enough power to get in trouble with.

They still make kits for these to turn it into a roadster with a fiberglass body using the s-10 frame and power train. The front end on these can take a beating jumping wise. This would make a great start for someone to turn into a cheap and reliable stock class racer/pre runner.

Well that's my bump.

Thanks man. It is a very good truck, has definitely been well worth its time around here. Starts up every time, runs great, and has never left its owner stranded (except when he ran it too low on gas ).
Just got her out today to haul a lawn mower to the other property for some overdue lawn maintenance. Hauled the mower like a champ and rode like a dream. And used only $10 to make a 20minute trip to the property and back - the gas gauge hardly moved. It gets great gas mileage and would make an awesome work truck.

Fyi the only issue that we had with running the truck today, was the roll pan falling off bc somebody (lol) forgot some of the sheet metal screws when putting it back on a few days beforehand. It will be back on before sold though.
