I believe when you ask a guy what kinda mpg his diesel gets..... Is like as how long his penis is. He will say its 8" but his wife will tell you he's lucky if he can make the 6" mark.

I agree. No stock 7.3 with any tire size will get 20
I have buddy's with close to the same mods that can't get 17 so I have no idea. But I know what I get and I love it. Downside is pulling a 37' gooseneck with 2 jeeps stock gears and 40s put a hurtin on the stock trans real quick.
But if I re gear I loose my mpg.

Diesel's are for people who wear flat billed monster/cockstar hats.

what kind of tuner do you have and what are the ratings? i have a bullydog flipswitch 6 position tuner. 25-75-150 valet and high idle and stock. i run on the 25hp and it pulls a trailer with ease and runs pretty good milage. stock i am getting 14 with a caliper hanging up

I just wanted you to show the 7.3L isn't bulletproof either. I dropped a valve in 7.3L towing through Michigan (which is nothing).

Well, just test drove an 06 with 6.0. It's an F-250 4x with a/t and has 87K on it. Not impressed! Sluggish as hell and was pulsating while cruising and mild acceleration. I have to assume there's something wrong with it. It felt like it was surging by 100 rpm increments. Is that an indication of the turbo impellers getting dirty and not pitching properly? What a let down. Thought I was buying a truck tonight. My V-10 felt way more powerfull than that turd.

BTW, father-in-law has the 6.4L dually and with the particle filter and super restrictive EVERYTHING that beast gets like 12mpgs.

I have read that when the warranty is up and you put an exhaust and intake and flash to stop the particle burn they get awesome mpgs such as above 20.

If you get a 6.0L you want to look for something that was beat on and that'll be your best bet since the EGR probably is clean.

Edit: in other words don't buy grandpa's clean truck that hasn't pulled anything. Good chance that you'll blow the heads off the motor first heavy load that's behind it.

Truck is straight piped but that's the only mod on it. Was going to check into upgrades last year but the motor swap in the jeep killed the bankroll. Truck got new tires....and some front end parts. Maybe next year.
You can do the DIY intake for around $50. I love mine!

It wasn't pretty It's about like you would imagine if you drop a valve into a running 7.3L cylinder at 3300 rpm.

I had one of those on my Duramax and it was decent. I bought one for Kerry's 6.0 and its a hunk of shit.

When I quit being lazy I'm going to do the EGR delete, exhaust, and a SCT.
