Default Justice Ginsburg and the Constitution

This woman sits on the highest court of the land and does not defend the Constitution.
When judges begin to disreguard the constitution that they swore to uphold it is time to replace them and not have lifetime appointments, same for politicians.

I must have missed the part of the article where she fails to "defend the Constitution" or "disreguard(sic) the constitution".

Who is attacking our constitution in that article, that she needs to defend it? She is just saying that another country's (S. Africa) newer and more recently drafted constitution would serve as a better model for Egypt to go by, than ours, which is older (and originally allowed slavery and didn't allow women to vote). Do you think that every country needs to have it's constitution modeled after ours?

Here's a right leaning supreme court judge "not defending?" our bill of rights:

Quote:
Every banana republic in the world has a bill of rights. Every president for life has a bill of rights. The bill of rights of the former evil empire, the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, was much better than ours. I mean it. Literally, it was much better. We guarantee freedom of speech and of the press. Big deal. They guaranteed freedom of speech, of the press, of street demonstrations and protests, and anyone who is caught trying to suppress criticism of the government will be called to account. Whoa, that is wonderful stuff!

Of course, it’s just words on paper, what our Framers would have called a “parchment guarantee.”
http://www.nytimes.com/2012/02/07/us...the-world.html

How dare he speak like that!!!!

Our constitution was put together by our founding fathers. Our founding fathers drafted our constitution based on Christian belief's and principals. The more this country attempts to remove God from society the more our constitution will be out dated.

Our founding father wrote it, but it's been amended 17 times.

Well with you being a heathen and allI would'nt expect anything else from you.jk
Glad to see your back. How's your blood pressure?

With her disreguard for the constitution and what it stands for. With the judges being picked are more and more left leaning and with that more of a liberal mindset and disisions. Liberals want to see America more like a new europe. And that is exactly what our founding fathers left. To come to this new land and start over.

she didn't "disregard" the U.S. Constitution, she recommended a newer Constitution that she felt would work better to base Egypt's new one from. One from the same continent as Egypt.

Amending the constitution is something that does need to be done with changing times, but to completely do away with it and start from scratch, ummmm I do not agree and probably most Americans would agree.

Nobody here. But I have read and heard more and more that our constitution is outdated and needs to be changed for the times, by liberals, wanting to make things even more liberal.

Totally off topic but something interesting about radical left liberals and population control, as if abortion was not bad enough.

Yeah, that's what I get for trying to post quickly. After the original bill of rights it was changed 17 more times.

I have mixed feelings about that. On one hand it's kinda annoying the way abers keeps changing the subject, but on the other I'd rather he do that than start a new thread for each piece of nonsense he posts.

I see no problem with them looking at a multitude of different countries and figuring out whats best for them. I would start with one that looks in disfavor of killing each other as a starting point.
