Beautiful 18 Month Old German Shepherd ***SOLD***

***SOLD***

Hey all -

My husband and I adopted a beautiful German Shepherd puppy from an out-of-state rescue a year ago. Her name is Nikki. She's a purebred shepherd with all the personality and characteristics sought after in a German Shepherd. She's incredibly smart, loyal and eager to please. She's a lover and would be completely happy to snuggle or sit at your feet. She adores children, but will chase small furry things like cats or bunnies. She plays well with other dogs, but needs to be introduced carefully because she can be a bit over-exuberant at first. She's housebroken and crate trained. She walks well on a leash and rides like a real lady in the car.

The only problem, which became apparent fairly quickly, is that she is intimidated by really big guys and those with deep voices. We felt really bad for her because, although she really wanted to be close to my husband and son, she spent most of her time in her crate (voluntarily) and didn't come out much until I came home.

So, we rehomed her with a work colleague of mine. I thought everything was working out well - my colleague took her to obedience training and Nikki bonded closely with one of her daughters, and then suddenly, she told me that Nikki "needed more space" and she had to give Nikki back. She won't admit it, but because my company is closing, I think she just didn't want the financial responsibility.

We got Nikki back in December. She is still an awesome girl just like she was, but she is still easily intimidated by big, loud guys. She isn't at all afraid of men who are more soft-spoken or relaxed (I don't mean they have to be gay, just not totally loud and obnoxious like the guys I live with). [Sorry, guys ...]

We paid an adoption fee of $375. She's up-to-date on her shots and has a microchip that needs to be transferred (costs about $20). To be sure that she's not used in a lab, I've decided to ask for an adoption fee of $200.

I would love to find a home for her where she will be happy and relaxed because I know she'll really flourish and make a family incredibly happy.

If you're interested, PM me.

Thanks!

She's very cute. I wish we could have a third dog.

Good luck :)

I am very interested in Nikki. I have cared for more then one Shepard and they are awesome pets. My only question is how would she be around my 14 month old son. I know Shepard's are a little hi strung but the last two I've had were great with small kids. I will pm you my number and you can text me what you think. Thanks Mark

Thanks guys. She really is a sweetie and I'll be very sad to see her go. She's a great girl and deserves a place where she will be happier.

Mark, I'll text you, thanks!

Thanks, Chad - she really is a pretty girl! And I know what you mean about wanting to have a dog - I really wanted her and we waited a long time before we got her, but she just isn't a good fit for us.

I'm really happy to say that Nikki has found a new home with Mark and his family. I'm sure she's gonna be really happy there (although I'm really missing her tonight)!

Thanks, Mark.
