Where is your trail maint. ? Do you have a weekend scheduled for this year yet?

I followed you most of both days (Intentionally near the back of the groups) and never noticed one. Great job grabbing them .

A group followed us from Town to our trail head on Saturday, not sure what Jim (white Rhino) said but they didn't follow us any further.

There were a couple of guys who sat at our table at the banquet who I later seen in the barfari room talking to jarhead about joining. Hope they did, seemed like it was a pretty good GLFWDA weekend as well.

I was bummed we didn't make it back in time for the meeting friday from our day run.

Yeah right in the bottom there. It looks like someone burned it and has since used that area as a fire pit.

I told them I had a couple bad ass Bronco's in my group and they turned tail and ran.

I believe it was Renegade II that saw the drinking in the parking lot.

The jeeps made them feel out of place and the bronco would of made them feel at home .

The group that passed us as we were heading back on Saturday was drinking. Mostly passengers but a few drivers as well.

Yes it is disgusting. Look at the gas connector we maintain. Or any other area. You have to remember, a lot of people up north don't find "Up North" as beautiful and relaxing as we do. They don't care. They also don't have money, which means that typically don't pay to dispose of their garbage. Next best thing? Just dump it in the woods.
There to damn lazy to look for fire wood. The scrap yards will take it. I'ts a bunch of farm boy's from.

Since this started out as a "Join GLFWDA" thread, anyone know the best way to donate to GLFWDA if we're already members? I put up the Bushwacker gift certificate that I won and want to donate part of the money back.

Bushwacker is a great sponsor for SnoFari!

I'm sure you can contact Bob and he can give you an idea of how, and where that donation will be needed.

Or show up to the next quarterly meeting. I hope to be there, we have a donation to make and we like to do it at the quarterly meeting.

But most importantly, the strength comes in numbers.
SoFO believes in GLFWDA, and for good reason! The evidence is there, even within the last couple years.
Now, we have some great challenges ahead of us, we CANNOT afford any more closures around St. Helen/West Branch. Or, our days of SnoFari and SnoBlind and whatever other "non" event wheeling will come to an end.
And that's closer to happening then what most people think.

I'd show up to a meeting but they are normally 4-5 hr drive for me since I'm in the far southwest corner of the state.

We do the trail maint. around West Branch and St. Helen. We have not picked a weekend yet. Thanks for taking the interest. It's usually a long day (or two), two times a year. It's not a joy ride. It's a lot of work.

And for those that do not know, trail maint. is not the same as forest/trail clean up. I hope to some day do a clean up around West Branch/St. Helen, but the logistics and support are not yet there for us. I'd like to work on that this year along with whatever else is needed to get a few trails opened back up and some taken off the chopping block.
