Long Armed ZJ

i Started out with a 95 grand cherokee (no pics) but I was a complete dumb ass my first trip to silver lake and did this...

RIP, it broke the axle in half, destroyed the radiator and my head smashed the windshield...and for the record i cleaned all the sand up

and then that jeep sat like this for a few months

about a week after i recked the white jeep i bought this one for scrap price, it didnt have the lift, wheels/tires, and the tranny was blown

i put a 4.5in lift on it that i took off from the white jeep. i also swapped the tranny from the white one.

i wheeled it for awhile

Have more but they are on my old phone.

I drove that for awhile untill my Grandpa passed away and left me his truck.

so now its time to rebuild the jeep. i got some 33in firestone m/t's

and a winch bumper

i bought some wheel spacers from some one on here so i could actually turn with out rubbing.

that plan failed, they rub on the inner fender wall when i turn. My plan is to not cut any of the fender out.

so now I'm stepping up to a 6.5 in BDS lift. i ordered the springs this morning, and i am custom making the long arms. my plan is 3 link in the rear and 4 link in the front.

Due to my high school budget of not a whole lot I'm using tractor joints instead of true heims. some day when i can afford them i will swap them out.

my progress as of last night

I know i need to make at least one more of these. I'm not sure how I'm mounting the front bars yet.

This is my first custom build where i have to fabricate anything so any constructive criticism or tips would be very much appreciated.

The week after Christmas i was at a gravel pit in stanton hill climbing and blew out my tranny so I'm all so in the middle of swapping that. The fluid tells the story

Lookin good man! I wish I could have welded like that when I was your age.... It will only better and easier as you continue to grow in this sport.

Just a little tip: -a grinder with a stack of flap wheels will be your best friend

Since you look like you drive like I do- just go with the .250 DOM. - but please get rid of that TSC stuff and go with a real heim and bungs. They are much stronger and have tighter tolerances. They don't cost that much more either.
