Also width is a factor. I dont want it that wide. I wheel at a friends alot and we are borderline fitting down the trails with standard d35.
D60 will let me run a taller gear but I'm happy with my 5.14 now. It will also give me bigger shafts. But the fact is I crawl I don't bonzi.. So once I put the crv's in shafts will never be a problem again. They rate the d35 crv's for a 44" tire. Lastly is the carrier strength. I'm going with the new arb. So for what I will have it will be as strong as it can get.

My understanding is that the RCV D44 shafts are rated for 40" and smaller tires. I will not even go into axle tube, ball joint and knuckle strength. I am just saying that your are spending a lot of money on an axle that is borderline for your setup. People narrow D60s all the time.

If I had a v8 I could se it being a problem. I've got friends with 500hp trucks running d44s all day in the sand. Granted its more giving. It seems everyone wants to go overkill when there building something.
The main reason in going with this is I'm getting a hell of a deal on a 44 that has brand new tubes and the knuckles are not welded on yet. So I can set my pinion angle to what I want. With half the work being done already.

Debating on swapping my 39.5/18/15 boggers for a set of 38.5/11/15 boggers. What do you guys think? I like the skinnys plus it will help my steering issue.

I've always had wider tires. All my buddy's with skinnys go further for some reason. the only worry I have is that they are 11" wide and with my beadlock ring welded on my rims are 10.5. Kind of worries me about airing down.

Started on a set of 1/2 doors today. Got them both to this point. Going to weld 1/8 plate to the back side and rhino line them.
Not bad for a tile guy!

I like it. IMO you're gonna be fine on the d44 and a reasonable foot especially with the RCVs. The ball joints are easy fix with the Synergy's and a full case locker handles the ring and pinion deflection. Only weak link left is the outers and that's fixable too, RCV will even make you a package ;)

They were skinny

I like these tires better than the originals for sure. They fit the truck a lot better. I lost 1" in Hight but I don't think that's going to be a big deal

After I figured out my fuel issue and got it running rite I took it out to play for a few with only 2wd and still ha the SUPER sway bar hooked up. So I did a little rear flexin
Still has about 5" of suspension left but in 2wd couldn't make it up the berm.
So with that all out of the way it was time to yank the front axel that was broke. Pinion I was guessing..
Drained the pig.. Well attempted to.. It was Bone dry..... The guy who had it before me must have never filled it back up... Thanks dick.
Well the damage is not from that but from the u joint cap drooping and hitting the balljoint at 40 on pavement when the hubs were locked in.
Broke both inner shafts and snapped the pinion.. Dang.

This is for the guys that dispute the fact that I have 20" front fox shox..

Done... Off to advantage driveline in Jackson to get it repaired so I can keep wheeling wheel my hp is being built.

Draining them down to see ware they are at and filling them back to factory recommendation and hope I can 86 the sway bar after this.
New full width hp d44 with 1/2" tube and shortened to waggy width
This one is the slow roaster that is being sent to advantage drive line as well. Getting arb, 5.14s 35spline crv shafts. Moog ball joints chev flat tops and high steer. Finnish it off with the psc dual ram. Can not wate!!
