1986 Honda 250r
I have a 1986 honda 250r that I want to sell. It has been completely rebuilt from the ground up and just needs some finishing. I have all the parts for it, it just needs someone with more time than me to put it back together. It has several aftermarket parts including
Bigger aftermarket carb
larger aftermarket fuel tank
carbon fiber nose
carbon fiber radiator guards
aftermarket front bumper
aftermarket HD grab bar
2 sets of rear tires
450r rear shock
aftermarket shift lever and engine cover
nerf bars (not installed)
full aluminum skid plate (not installed)
Basically I bought this four wheeler with a hole in the piston. I took the engine out, had the bore cleaned up (not oversized), did some porting and polishing, and then rebuilt it with a higher compression wisco piston and all new gaskets. (side note: 1986 was apparently the best year engine for these quads because of thicker cylinder walls, I was offered 500 bucks for the jug alone) While i had it apart I cleaned and painted the engine and polished the covers. So at this point I had a brand new looking engine and a dirty ugly quad. So I tore it apart down to the frame then wire brushed and painted everything. I then cleaned, painted and reinstalled all the parts using all new bearings and seals. EVERY bearing and seal has been replaced and has zero ride time. It also has new sprockets front and rear. It was put back together the right way, no expenses spared. That pretty much gets us to where it is now. It needs the rest of the parts installed and needs to be broken in and it would be ready to go.
There are only two bad things about this quad that i can think of. First of all the front fenders are cut, and the rears are cracked and someone painted them flat black. (with is one reason i didnt finish it, i wanted to find new ones) and the second issue is with the rear end. When the new bearings were installed there was a aftermarket anodized threaded sleeve that tightens them up. Well if i recall it was not long enough to fully tighten up the new bearings. so basically it allows the rear end to move back and fourth a bit. (never ridden like this). Basically it needs a longer sleeve or the stock piece. I looked them up at one point and it was +- 15 bucks.
The price is set at 1500 which from looking at others for sale i think is a reasonable starting point. Most the others i see for sale do not have nearly as much aftermarket stuff and arent even close to the same condition and are going for 2500-3000. However, obviously mine is not ready to ride so ive priced it accordingly. If you wanted to put a little work into it, it would easily be a 2500 dollar quad. The aftermarket parts alone on this are worth most of my asking price at there used value. Anyways, im not firm on the price but dont low ball me. Its been sitting in this condition in my garage for almost 2 years so its not hurting anything and i dont need the money. I pretty much just have lost interest in it, have no use for it, and would like the extra space it takes up.

I might trade for the right thing but cash is king. What i do not need is vehicle parts of any kind, stereo or paintball crap, or electronics or any form. What i might be interested in are guns (mainly handguns or possibly a savage bolt action 12 gauge) a NICE tool box, or a NICE air compressor (60 gallon+). Money can be added to make the right deal happen if its something thats worth it.

Had several trade offers but no one with cash yet. Just spent way to much money on stuff I didn't need so looking to make my bank account happy again.
