I guess I'm not smart enough to follow the logic that, if there is a leftward bias in "the media", and if the SOTU television coverage was biased to the left, then "the media" must have been responsible for the television coverage. It would seem possible to me that there could be some other "them" that could explain a bias in the coverage, like that someone hired by the President or Congress was responsible.

I guess by virtue of whoever is responsible for television coverage of presidential speeches being in the television business they are part of "the media", but I'd like to know who they are paid by.
I'll throw a softball out here.
Do a little Googling of Jeffery Immelt. For a direct connect.
I have my tinfoil hat on so fire away.

Tell me you are trolling when you say you do not see that MSNBC, NBC, ABC, CNN, late night talk show and all the other liberal news agencies are showing biased towards Obama. If you can't see it then.......you can't see it.
Try removing your blinders.

I never said I couldn't see that there was bias in the media. I see all media as being biased one way or another. Even if they are trying not to be, they will be because they are human and cannot completely keep their opinions from effecting how they present the news. Yes, I'm sure the media outlets you listed show a bias toward Obama. I'm also sure that there are media outlets, like Fox, some radio stations, and probably some newspapers, that show a bias away from Obama. Taken as a whole, the aggregate bias of "the media" is virtually impossible to measure with any accuracy, and thus ends up being opinion. I suspect that if it could be measured it probably does lean to the left. We could try to debate the degree of that lean but without quantitative data we be just debating opinions.

The main reason I don't see it is that I don't watch TV or listen to news talk radio. I prefer to read the news than have it read to me.

If by "Try removing your blinders". you mean "Turn on the TV", I refuse.

OK so the CEO of GE is also the chairman of the Council on Jobs and Competitiveness.

How does this answer the question of who is responsible to the television production of Obama's SOTU adress?

If you say that the only place you get your news from is the paper then I can see why you take the stand you do. Associated press is also a left leaning news outlet.

Obama's speech in A2 was great! He's a powerful speaker. The best of his generation. We have not seen a speaker this good since JFK or MLK. I can't wait for him to get his next 4 years started.

Worsen, yes.

Caused, no? Mismanagement, poor quality and far too many union concessions for far too long was the root cause.
