I have a 87 Bronco. I was wanting to install a factory LS carrier into the front rear end. I keep hearing stuff like "You have to machine one of the side gears down to allow the passenger axle shaft to slip in far enough to get the e clip on it" or "I have to use a spring in between the slip and stub on the passenger side axle to push it into the diff or it wil slde out". At some time Ford put a few LS front carriers into trucks. If any of what I am being told is true then how did Ford get the axles to stay in?
