buggy to monster reatta

First off, if you think the idea use gay or stupid, that's your opinion and please keep it to yourself. Second, the original rig is something my buddy and I built for less than 800 bucks. I know it looks like shit, but it was some cheap fun. That was the first project I ever worked on, first time I worked on an engine, and obviously first time I built a roll cage. I didn't have access to the necessary tools to make a typical roll cage, so I made do with what I had. The reason why I'm doing this is simple, busy work. Being a full time student, I do anything I can to keep my stress level down, and this project is a great way.

Why the reatta? My buddy and I had some fun times tinking around with that car, and it seems like a good way to continue the substandard pile of metal Buick created. I'll admit again that the original rig isn't winning any awards. It served its purpose, and now its going to be something different and better. One can't build the best rig ever on their first try. When I was saying it was different, i was meaning that it was different from what is usually seen on the site. There are alot of jeep projects, and alot of small truck projects. I know that alot of the car body conversions turn out like shit, but thats because things are done quickly and without a lot of prior thought. Before i started cutting things apart i made a bunch of measurements, i have a notebook of drawings and plans, and i am prepared.

Finally, sorry to those of you I got defensive towards. I was hoping to get some insight, and was very pissed when nothing but negativity came. To the decent guys that put it in perspective I thank you.

Once again, I'm just here to show what I got. If you don't like it, cool, move on to the next thread. If you've got some helpful input, that'd be good.

When I built the first rig it was a very hastey process because we were trying to beat the snow, now I have a place to work on it where I can take my time, and do it right.

It is based off of a wrangler frame, has a small block chevy 400 in it. Currently sitting on 35's.

I got a 91 reatta off of my buddy, and we're combining the two.

At least channel the frame into the body when you do it. I hate a TRAR body that looks like it's teetering way above a frame.
