Default 2-Car Hauler Gooseneck - SOLD

2003 Take-3 Gooseneck Car Hauler

20,000 lbs GVWR (this was an upgraded option to 2 10k axles)
96" (8') width (it might be 102" wide)
36' + 8' neck
4,200 lbs empty weight
36" - 40" overall height
28" punched diamond plate decking
22" ground clearance to top of rear bumper
(2) 89" track 10K cambered EX Lube axles
all electric brakes
4K slipper springs w/72" center suspension
Load Range E radial tires
silver mod wheels
DOT Truck Lite lighting
2 5/16" adj. hitch w/ball coupler
safety chains standard
90"X16" aluminum 7K capacity ramps (this is an upgrade option)
(8) wheel lashing tie-down systems for use on Take 3 perforated decking
(1) 20K single speed dual pin drop leg jack
Rawson-Koenig 48"X18"X18" stell, weather tight toolbox

http://take3trailers.com/trailers/2-car-hauler/

This trailer would run you around $14,000 as it sits with the upgraded axles and aluminum ramps. It also comes with enough tie down straps for 3 vehicles. You can fit 3 shorter vehicles on this trailer. We bought it in 2004 to haul our rock crawling Jeeps down to Kentucky to play. We no longer have the time to go and this isn't being used. It has been maintained by All-Pro Automotive in Lansing for the past 4 years. You will not find a better trailer to haul 2 or 3 vehicles. It only weighs about 4000 pounds empty, giving you up to 16,000 pounds of load carrying capability. If you have a Jeep hobby or want to haul cars commercially, this is the trailer you need. I hate to sell it, but just don't use it any more. It pulls like a dream behind my Dodge Ram 3500 (non-dually). You literally almost forget you are pulling it if you get your load balanced properly. If you are serious about this trailer, I can load a couple vehicles on it and we can run it down the road. All of the tires have been replaced in the past 18-24 months. The spare is brand new.

$6,000 OBO - NO TRADES - CASH ONLY

What weight capacity are those E rated tires spec'd to? I am assuming those are 16" wheels. To actually haul near the 20K mark I am guessing that the tires need to be upgraded.

I will have to check, but don't forget that a lot of the weight of the trailer sits on the truck, not the trailer tires. This was a factory axle upgrade, so they are designed to run on this trailer up to 20k GVW. You don't need to upgrade anything.

I partially agree. If you knock 20% off of that you are still in the 16K range on 4 of those tires. Most E rated tires are not rated for the 4k range but maybe I am wrong.

They are in the 3600-3800 pounds range I think. More than 20% would transfer to the truck though. The trailer tires are pretty close to the back of the trailer. The tires are 80psi too.

Thanks. I'm getting some interest off of Craigslist on it.

It is awesome for someone that wants to haul 2 Jeeps somewhere to play. It is also nice as it doubles as a lift for power washing under the Jeeps. It is also awesome for replacing driveshafts. You can stand under your Jeep in the parking lot instead of crawling under it on the ground. Ask me how I know... LOL

how do you think the ramps/decking would hold up to a small 9500# Dozer?

I don't think it would work. This is an open center car hauler. The dozer would have to be wide enough to miss the center opening. The ramps are rated at 7k though. If the dozer is wide enough, you could make it work. I would think you would want a wood deck trailer though.
