Default New MI Trails Survey Available

With the changes taking place at DNR (did you know the trail system was moving to the control of the Parks Division at DNR? http://www.glfwda.org/showthread.php...ed=1#post64706 ) the head of the Parks division is looking for your input.

Take a minute to complete the survey at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/5PJQP5W
and let them know that we need more 4x4 opportunities on state land. It is not a bubble survey, you need to type in a response to their questions. We do not need more sandy, go-fast UTV routes. We have quality ATV and MX riding opportunities here in Michigan, and the growing UTV segment is also finding an increasing amount of opportunities as the DNR expands the ORV Route system, but the 4x4 users are not getting any benefit from miles of sandy, thawed out snow mobile routes. Make sure you do not rant or bad-mouth the DNR, but make sure when you complete the survey they know you are not finding quality recreational opportunities here in MI. If you travel out of state with your 4x4, tell them where you go and why. If you like the rocks at St Helen or the Mounds, tell them that. If you want them to duplicate Rocks and Valleys, the Badlands, Bundy Hill, Redbird, The Cliffs...whatever - make sure you tell them.

It's time to step up and be heard!

Paul, didnt you or Pat mention something in the State legislature from the 70's that said they would build an orv area in SE Michigan?
Maybe we can hit them with that as well. Plenty of old gravel pits around here.

Not sure if it was that far back but yes the legislature directed that they build a scramble area is SE Michigan that has never been done. I included that in my response too.

FYI I forgot to mention in the original post that the survey expires 1-20-12 so git 'r done quick!

Done, but I do not share your opinion that we do not need more Atv, MX, Utv routes. ALL outdoor recreation needs more routes.

Please work WITH other groups to support their needs as well. Stop dividing everyone into their own group. Snowmobilers, Motorcyclists, ATV riders, UTV drivers, Hikers, Campers, Hunters, and Fishermen, all need to be united, not divided against each other.

Voiced my opinion. I would like to become more involved with trying to keep the trials open and getting new land to use. Quick question, sorry if I hijack the thread but, is the Golden Triangle club still active. I know Darrin but do not have a way to contact him.
