Took it out for a maiden voyage last night. Half hour drive and got back to hear the coolant over flow res boiling. So....looks like I will need an alum radiator and possible taurus fan upgrade before too much driving.

She sucks some gas now too with that 360... you can watch the gas gauge go down. Literally.

Any input from people that converted their I6 to a hot running 360? did you do a cross flow aluminum 2 core or go with a 3/4 core aluminum?

I would upgrade the radiator but keep the mech. fan, they pull a ton of air and work. I am not sure your 55 amp alternator would like a taurus fan much....lol

Two years later.

Purchased a really nice used 3 core radiator and CJ V8 fan shroud from Denny and got them in. Left the external transcooler and mounted that to the radiator. Drove it for twenty minutes and it seems to be running a lot cooler. Working on getting the old gas out of it. She doesnt like to idle under load when coming up to a stop light. Might need a carb rebuild? Will be going in for new exhaust soon, right now it is still open headers dumping out right under the doors. It is obnoxiously loud...

Hoping to get it running good and get some actual drive time in it this year.

I was wondering about this since I haven't seen out in ages. Good to hear. It's been parked for a couple years. Might be old gas, but going thru the carb won't hurt.

So, its only money right? The tree will grow more later? Just got the postal back from the mechanic. Custom exhaust with magnaflow mufflers, new holley carb, distrubutor, wires, coil and a bunch of other stuff I cant remember and here we are. I pray that the model 20 rear axle holds till next spring because I am tapped out.

I still like this. Haven't seen it in so long, I thought you put it in a museum.
