Smile Looking-older GM 4x4 truck, diesel preferably

First off I'm just looking right now. Have to sell the Ranger first.

Secondly it needs to be solid. None of this "I put new fenders on but there's plywood over the hole in the floorboards" or "30lbs of bondo under the pretty paint" or my favorite "great shape...and then I get there and the rockers are missing." A low mileage survivor or something from out west would be great.

Third I'm looking for a solid, reliable rig to be a tow/haul/3rd vehicle/toy truck. The simpler the better. Also has to fit in my 79" tall garage so I can't buy your big lifted rig. Actually...come to think of it the stocker the better.

Yes I know the age is an issue with this stuff but if I don't find it...I don't find it.

A Pre IFS solid front axle truck would be great. However a nice diesel or fuelie SBC IFS GM would work if nothing else was found.
3/4 or 1 ton preferably but a nice half ton won't be passed up.
6.2L or 6.5L diesel prefered but a 350 TBI truck is hard to pass up.

Someone has to have grandpa's old truck or that truck you bought a few years ago and just don't use much sitting around. Let me pick it up and not do much with it.

That's exactly the truck I want! Unfortunately I don't have a real job yet . . . it it a 12valve?

I don't want a 24 valve. If you still have it in a while I'd like to check it out.

Take care,
Phill

Oh, sorry to hijack the thread, I can't help with the Chevy request.

There was a really nice looking older chevy, like 88-89, 1ton dually on craigslist a while back. I think it might have been 6.2 diesel. I would have been all over it if I wasnt looking for a ex-cab/crewcab truck... It was cheap as hell too.
