Default 85 toyota pickup mods?????

i jest got an 85 toyota pick up with a 7 inch lift with 39.5 super swamer boggers powerd by the 22RE i put a headed on it an i was wondering if there was any big power adders i could do to the motor

you can throw a turbo at it and a larger cam. thats about it without spending alot of money for 200 ponies.

did you put any gears in it? a cam will help alot, headers. thats about it without spending a bunch of money

it seams to be geared right an i got a headman header on it right now i also moved the raidator to the bed of the truck with dule electric fans

i cant remember off the top of my head what the gears are in it. no i dont have any seat covers. in low range thow with the bogger i can get into 3rd gear an throw sum mud like no other is there sum aftermaket EFI for the 22re?????

Why would you want an aftermarket EFI for a 22RE? I doubt that it would gain much HP over the stock EFI. I hate to say it but small block chebby would probably be your best bang for the buck. Although the biggest bang might be from your axles.

thank you snow-turtle!!!!!!! yea there is enuff room to put a sb in it iv seen them with383 stroker in them but i wanna keep this truck light as possable. but you do make a good point you put a small block in a 4000 lbs truck an nothing is gonna stop you

Your truck is well under 4k lbs.

Bogdog hit the problem perfect. Your stock axles will nor tolerate 40" boggers long, eslecially with anything more than a stock 22re. And while there are ways to add power to a 22re, most of them are pricey and not really worth it imo. Your best bet is a bigger motor if you have to have more power.

Some thing to think about...a 22re dry weight is 315 lbs, mean while an all aluminum gm v-8 (ls1, l33 5.3, ect) is 480 lbs, that is a 165 lbs for 3x the power.

*these numbers are the result of a quick search, I cant verify accuracy*

Actually, 425-430 lbs for an aluminum block LSx motor, fully dressed. Same weight as a 4.3 V6. I've personally hung one from a scale and weighed them.

i would go with the 4.3l vortec motor. if you don't want a bulky v8 that could cause axle damage you'll get a increase in power but not over power your rig.
