Default Blazer 4.3 No spark No start

Alright, as some of you know I've been chasing this problem for quite awhile now, and I still cant get it.

The entire ignition system has been replaced including the computer and CPS. I have found that I have 12v at the coil and a pulse. I checked the pulse with a led as shown in the link below. According to this site this suggests a bad coil which I have replaced with no luck. Is there anything else I should be looking for?

http://easyautodiagnostics.com/gm_mi...re_tests_5.php

Thanks in advance!

did you replace the crank or the cam position sensor? CPS could stand for either to some people

Have you checked to see if the dist shaft is turning with the engine? I assume you know about the drive gear at the cam that wears.

I take it you dont have spark.

It does turn, I have also checked that the timing chain hasn't jumped and the rotor points in the right direction when #1 is at TDC. Its was a new distributor this summer, however I haven't pulled it to check the gear but it feels tight.

I bought one of those today and checked for spark at the coil with no luck.

What should the gap be on the tester? The recommended gap for the tester is almost a whole inch!! I checked the gap against my roommates car and his had to be running before the spark would jump Should I make the gap smaller?

Nope no remote start. The security light on the dash doesn't flash either. Could the factory security system still be causing issues?

if you want to re program the security system i can tell you how to do that.

hook up a battery charger. and leave it there even if the battery is strong you will need it on there.

turn the key on but dont try to start it. just bump it. leave the key in the run position for 11 minutes. turn the key off for 30 seconds. repeat this step 2 more times. after you have done that 3 times turn the key off for 30 seconds and try to start. it should fire. what im having you do is reprogram the computer to factory. it just had to do this the other day and it works perfect now.

No luck But I accidentally bumped the key back to the accessory position once so maybe that threw it off.

that will do it. i had to do it 2 times cause i did the same thing. i did it on a 99 as well. it was getting no spark and after doing this it allowed me to fire it up. i had no power to the fuel pump as well before i did this. the computer relearned its self and then i had full power to everything again.

id say try it again and it should work. just have to be careful with the key.

See that's my problem I have fuel at the rail and the pump kicks on as normal with the key.

I'm not so sure that the security system is my problem after all.

some security systems just target fuel, others just ignition.
