Default F-ed up exhaust?- Gurgling while idling

So i just noticed that the exhaust on my truck sounds like it's gurgling while it is idling. it's a 1996 chevy 5.7 vortec, it has stock cats and a flowmaster 50 series on it DI/DO. I just noticed it now while it is idling (charging the battery on the POS work van)

Never heard of this before, is it just water vapor or something or is it a worse problem?

Google did not come up with anyting usefull btw

if it has the small monolith cats they may be broken. with the truck off and the exhaust cool try and make the cats rattle ( rubber mallet works well) if they are broken that would make the noise at idle

I'll give that a try, would think that busted up honey comb would make a gurlging noise though? I'll take a thermometer to both the in and out too, see if it's working right

the only other Gurgle noise has been in the older trucks ( pre `87) for heater core gurgle. people complained about the gurgle noise and the fix was to put in a 6' coil of hose between the back of the intake and the inlet on the heater core. it gave the coolant a chance to come down from a "steam" state and quiet the noise.
