was that number a little disapointing, at first yes we were bumming. But after talking with the dyno guys and reading up on it not really disappointing at all. People have been seeing losses of over 50-60 percent with ultra 4 cars on the chassis dynos.

so 233 is in the ball park of 500-600 hp at the crank which was the overall goal of the rebuild, so i would say the minimum tuning that we were able to do after fixing a few bugs its right on track to where it needs to be. Mikes plan is to race it as is and take it back to the dyno after KOH.

Why not put some normal-ish tires on it and also measure the coast down portion of the dyno run. You would learn allot more about the HP and drive line efficiency if that was your goal. 50 - 60 % driveline loss sounds waaaaay high to me, especially in 2x4, Im not buying it. But I really dont care. Dynos are like making love to a Playboy magazine.

I go with the comments that the dyno was really intended to optimize and tune what we have. If Mike is happy with it, I'm happy with it.

On a side note I'm happy to announce I'm coming home from Snofari without carnage to repair. Just lots of looking over to do. So, it looks like we are headed to KOH!

A dyno is like an Affliction T-Shirt. It may make you feel like a bad ass but usually it makes you look silly.

With good moly rings or plasma moly rings and the cam being a roller cam, just start and go after oil circulation. those are good numbers with the taller tires, put a 30" slick on there or a 31" street tire and watch it eat. Those numbers are more what people are use to seeing on youtube.

Car sounds rowdy Mike with some kickass throttle response, it sure did ignite those 40's.

From what Mike told me the hood is the only thing getting a new wrap, everything else will be the same.

tires are heavier, may slip on the rollers less than slicks or a smaller size tire. yes they do make a difference on the dyno. It may not be a lot but hell numbers is numbers right.
