Default Gm ignition question

I'm putting a v6 into my samurai and the stock distributor uses a 4 blade igniton madule that i'm not sure how to wire to make run. I can get an h.e.i. from summit for $200 and be done but would like to save the cash if possible. The wires on the module are labeled W G B C im just trying to find out what goes to what? If you could help that would be great.

Keeping the TBI? If so, you need that dist for the injection. If you're putting a carb on it, you can pull it and go with whatever works.

To the best of my knowledge, You won't be able to run that dist. I'm sure there is a way to wire it but there are no advance functions in it. Find a HEI and be done.

You need a dist from a carberated v6,and it needs to be pre 1980 i believe.some where in the early 80's they started controling the carb, and dist with a computer.

Is this a 2.8 or a 4.3? If it is a 4.3 you might be able to use a distributor out of a 4.3 boat motor.

Here's one for a 2.8l. It's not cheap.

Iirc chevy citations ran a 2.8,dont know if they ran a computor to control the engine. The easiest way to tell is if it has a vacum advance cannister on the dist.I think some of the first s10s may have had a regular carb/dist also.

Yea i work at a parts store and i found the citation distributor from 81-82 2.8l is exactly what i need. But my warehouse is out of it i'm gonna do some calling monday morning see if they can special order it for me. No go on the proform though? I've never used them before i have always used allstar billet distributors on my small blocks before & had great luck. But they dont offer a V6 one.

I ran a proform in the 406 in my camaro for about a year.I had to repair it all the time, the weights would bust in half, the bushings are plastic, and wear out.I never liked how smooth the weights moved either, they were notchy.I put a msd pro billet hei in and couldn't be happier.I did have a problem with the msd,but they stepped up and fixed it.
