Well, i contacted Andy at Complete Offroad where i bought it and he got me in touch with his tech support guy at Yukon (who actually called me...i didn't have to try and track him down)...he was very pleasant to deal with and seemed like he wants to help. He wanted me to finish disassembling the entire locker which i did tonight. The leading edge of the side that was skipping is chipped, kinda sharp and almost has a "ledge" to it. It's not much (i couldn't get it to show up in a picture) but it's definitely "tore up" compared to the other side...is it enough to cause it to constantly skip?....that i don't know.....i have to call Yukon back tomorrow and report what i found. The locker is less than a year old so theoretically it's under warranty. I will share what they have to say.

I had similar issues with a lockright. Wore that bitch out after a 2 years. Would unlock under load with wheels straight and at times it would be violent. Took it out and had Kyle cut new edges on the teeth and it was good for another year until it started slipping again. Pulled it for a spartan. Ran the spartan for a year and decided on a Grizzly locker and sold the spartan off before it was worn to.

It's violent when it does it....with the amount of noise and the way it jerked around i was certain there would be parts laying in the bottom of the housing

John,
how long have you been running the grizzly? Any issues? My rear grizzly certainly snaps way more than the Detroit in the front.

Big thanks to Dale at Yukon and Andy at Complete Offroad! They are going to warranty the locker and allow me to pay to upgrade to a Grizzly.

New locker is on it's way, just waiting on info from Yukon to send the old one back....gotta get it in and make sure it's all set....heading to Flat Nasty in April.

John....when you went from the spartan to the grizzly did you have to reset pinion depth and everything or just reshim backlash?

I installed two, mine and alboys. I didn't have to mess with the pinion. But I feel I got lucky.

Well Yukon has initially denied my warranty claim. Andy from Complete has stepped in and supposedly they are "reevaluating" it. Gonna be interesting to see what happens. They claim there is no visual damage or defect with the locker which is a blatant lie....you can clearly see/feel the edges of the teeth chipping/pitting.

What a fucking joke.

They sent me a video tonight "proving" the locker works...they assembled it in a carrier and put it in a fixture you turn over by hand and that places little to no resistance on the locker and surprise, it locks. Well no shit....i stated from the beginning it functioned fine in light load, low rpm situations....i is a pos under pressure. They still deny that the teeth are damaged even though they clearly are.

At this point i hold no hope....i am just resigning to the fact i now have a nearly 400$ paper weight.

Can you get it back. I sold my lock right after it wore out for $100 (buyer knew it slipped under load). Buyer was gonna recut the teeth edges.

Yea they will send it back. They are even will to cover shipping to help me out

I'm not done fighting yet....in my initial phone call with yukon i explained the circumstances under which it fails. I responded to their video and explained that their test in no way mimics those conditions...we will see where it goes but i'm not hopeful

When I checked into warranty on mine, I found that they wouldn't cover it if I used tires bigger than 35"....

There are a lot of loop holes for them, hope you can get it worked out. If it comes down to it, I can remachine it back to new condition for you, then you can sell it.
