I don't think the physics are the same, so your telling me the platform is identical just bolted to a different frame? I'm sure a 1 ton Chevy ifs is totally different than that in a Humvee. Same principle? Yes but for different purposes. The one on the Humvee was designed for articulation more than load capacity. Where on the pick up its more for load capacity and sucking ass.

Your bias against an independent suspension is unfounded. There are pros and cons in an offroad application but for light off road used (construction, farm use, etc.), and on road applications, IFS works just fine. As far as load capacity, IFS can handle just as much as a monobeam. The difference is better ride quality and handling. I have a 1 ton Ford truck with a twin I-beam front end I and think it handles the loads I put into the truck with ease. I also tow a 16k pound backhoe trailer combination with it and the truck handles like a million bucks.

So there is my piece. This "sucking ass" you speak of, could you provide documentation (with references please) stating your claims?
