Bushmaster carbine at dunhams

I just got an ad from dunhams with the bushmaster carbine in .223 for 799 + 100 gift card with purchase. Says "optics ready, milled gas block and m4 handgaurds". Seemed like a good deal. Any comments from the experts?

Palmetto state armory still has their patrol carbine for under $700, and several places are selling Colt 6920's for under $1000, so I don't see any need to buy an inferior Bushmaster.

Bushmaster, DPMS, and Olympic are NOT Mil-spec. Sorry.
They are also 3 of the shittiest brands of ARs on the market. There are much better options for the same, or even less money.

Pretty sure that Bushmaster at Dunhams is one with a composite lower. I feel the lower is the main part of an AR, so I wouldnt like a cheap plastic one.

That's even worse. Do a Google search on Bushmaster carbon 15 reviews, you will see they dont exactly have the best reputation.

it's not a plastic lower, at least not the one at Dunhams. I have this same gun and have put alot of rounds(over a coule thousand) through it with NO issues. At that price it's a good deal for an out of the box 223 AR style rifle.

I have put a lot of rounds through a Bushmaster and they shoot great. I have no complaints. Not a bad price.

just looked around, that's a great price with the $100 gift card. Just called Cabelas and he said $899.00. Dunhams has really good deals somethimes, you just need to watch for the flyer to come out. Use the $100 to buy down a good ar scope, like the Nikon or an eotech 512, or 522 and your all set.

I wouldn't buy it. It's a bottom end rifle, for a not so great price. There are a lot more players in the AR market than there were just a couple years ago, and you can get a lot better rifle for less money. See below:

PSA also has the same rifle bundled with various optics for great prices as well.

I'm guessing it adds the Magpul moe handguard, grip, and stock.

Gotcha. I knew I've seen that before. Is it worth it? Or just decoration.

I run the moe pistol grip, and I like it, it adds a little thickness to the grip, making it feel a bit more like most of my pistols, which I like. Some people prefer an A2 grip.
The handguard some attachment points for light/sling/whatever.

I have a Bushmaster O.R.C. (optics ready carbine). Put a Hogue grip on it, two stage Bushmaster trigger in it and a rifle length JP Enterprise free float tube on it. Love the gun, wouldn't hesitate to buy another. Shoots sub m.o.a. out to 200the yards with several kinds of ammo. Can't testify for accuracy past 200 yrds because I haven't tried anything farther and I won't make claims I can't back up with proof. GREAT GUN and that sounds like a great deal.
