Default rear axle leaking after seal change

just changed the rear pinion seal on my o4 unlimited along with some other parts, took it down the road and back, the rear is leaking fluid worse now. I added a small amount once changed, to make up for what it had previosly lost and stopped once it hit the check hole in the diff. cover. anyone have any ideas why its leaking? the yolk has the nut to keep it in place, a washer came off as well. when the yolk came off it was sudden do to the pressure from me pulling on it, a washer fell to the ground, does it go infront of the yolk or behind? this is the onyl thing i can see that may have gone wrong, the washer is about the same size in diameter and the nut... any help is appreciated. thanks.
