whole dashboard has to come out. yes it's a royal pain in the ass. don't bother consulting a chilton manual they are useless on how to take one out and replace it. did one on my moms 02 1500 and i will never do that again.

Similar to my blazer. The whole dash has to come out, just take your time and label everything so it all goes back together correctly.

Plenty of write-ups out there on it.
