Subscribed! I saw this Jeep the other day...another very clean axle/engine install.

BTW, I think these names are fun (nice work, jimhri). I'm brain-fried due to a long day at work today, and therefore, have no creative names to offer at this time.

This Jeep might get named " Grey Hair". Damn motor is giving us lots of issues.

Does anyone know someone with EFI Live on this side of the state?

well.............................................. we couldn't take it anymore.
we and everyone else thought it was a wiring issue.
we checked everything, even reflashed another computer, brought it to Howel to have them look at it.

We siad F__it , tore the body off the frame and swaped out the motor..

We donít know yet. There were multiple issues that we found. Compression wasnít like a newer motor should be, the last 2 lifters were loose (as if the push rods were bent) and the oil was real nasty looking after running it a short time. We think that something in the VOD and or VVT was messed up.

what did you have to do to get the 08 motor to work with the 6L80E? and which t-case did you use?

basically no one is using these transmissions in aftermarket applications as yet - I've been reading about people having a lot of problems with the torque management/aftermarket torque converters causing the clutches to prematurely wear.

can you shed some more light on what you're doing to work around these issues?

i wasnt aware of whomever is having the issues. We are working with a company to make this whole swap a kit. they have done many 6.2LS/ 6L80 swaps.

I'm surfing pirate fairly regularly and have yet to see these builds you speak of....but, my reference is from reading through cadillac forums of guys building 600+ hp with turbo/supercharged motors.

the 6 speed wasn't available in 08 in the trailblazer or any full size platform. did you use an 09+ ecm/harness? I'm curious what it takes to put one of these transmissions into an older model. If you're just using some other company to make it work just say so - I'd rather hear details from a source able to detail the operation.

this is out of a cadillac denali, we have had to switch motors/trans so much its not funny. We DO NOT build the harrness or computer. i can build you any axle or suspension that you can dream of..... but in no way could i build a harness for this setup. i can get you in contact with the companys we us if you would like. We are looking at getting some software to be able to improve the performance of an exsiting system (EFI Live) though.

i dont know about the builds that erin was talking about and the builds i was talking about arent necessarily on pirate. they might be they might not be.IDK

I would really like to hear more about the wiring/ecm vendor if thats not too much.

I guess I need to join up on a sport truck forum to get the information I'm really looking for - vvt 5.3/4l60e/nv246 to cts-v 6.2/6L90E/nv271. Basically I'm trying to make my 1500 into a newer/improved max package because towing with the 4 speed sucks.

Even if it is a jeep the axles and driveline are pretty sweet and the work looks A+
