The A-pump motor is an updated version of the P-pump. Inline injection, and yes, it is a turbo. I'll post pics tomorrow. Only possible problem is drivability if the industrial A-pump is any different than the over the road A-pump. I haven't gotten a clear answer on that yet.

I'm hoping to use it, I should know soon. Otherwise it will just be a parts motor for me. Thanks Much!

After talking to many knowledgeable Cummins guys I think I'm going to use the Rotary motor for now and shelf the inline for another day (or possibly resell it). There is no one reason not to use the A-pump, but swapping it will take more work and reasearch. I'm still hoping for Snofari, so we'll see. I know I can be on the road faster with that setup.

Fun discovery! Went to bolt up engine stand to bread truck chevy adapter, and 3/8 bolts don't fit, which is what they have used since 1955 on SBC motors. Nope, the cummins/chevy adapter uses metric bolts. Its off to the hardware store for me.

With Snofari approaching I knew I had to get ordering some stuff. This morning I ordered the lower gasket kit and killer dowel pin fix tab. Tried to order up my SYE for the 241 case, but I guess I have to call tomorrow for availability.

Any pics on test fitting the ARB bumper? I really want to see how that fits on, there doesn't seem to be a lot to choose from in the way of FSJ bumpers that really look good (I too am not exactly a fan of tube).

I'm going to be following this thread closely.

Not yet, as I'm not 100% sure I'll be using it. Only prob with using this bumper is that I believe (could be wrong) that they are now out of production. Many places list it, but when I called around for it with my burb build over two years ago, Ironman Offroad (old owner Pat Kinne) was the only one who could get it, and I believe he said I bought one that had been unpaid for and was essentially NOS.

Unfortunately (or fortunately) I am quite busy with my business and customers. All my spare time has been taken up delivering parts and buckling up small tasks. If everything goes as planned I'll be hot and heavy on this after the first of the year, as I've been doing my best to open up my schedule. I think I can still do it in time. If not, I'll bring my DD XJ to flog. I'll be at snofari even if I have to steal a rig :)

Just got home late last night from a week long trip that was supposed to be 2 days. I was stranded in Virginia when my truck broke down.

I am planning on a full tilt run to try to get this going before Snofari. If I don't, I'll be bringing my DD 97 XJ.

Small update.

Picked up another 4bt to turn (already sold) and it had the v-belt accessory drive that will allow me to run my A/C pump. Also it had a unique (older style?) oil fill in front valve cover instead of timing cover, with a block off for the more common location. So, I swapped those parts over to my motor, as they will make A/C pump installation cleaner.

When swapping front cover I fought the bolts, and had to use an extractor on 5 of them, so I'll be getting a bolt set. No killer dowel pin problems present. Woo Hoo!
