60.

IFS later, once its otherwise sorted out.

Then sell the 60, links, etc.

I have never been a huge fan of rocks I play on them becasue thats what the people I wheel with like to do (your one of those people...lol). I would rather have a rig that is more so go fast and less rocks. The only way I can truley see to go fast with 4x4 is with IFS. However I dont think it requires the top dollar blingy parts that koh rigs run. There is alot of discussion on pirate about this and alot of rigs running more budget ( by budget I dont mean a few thousand...lol just not 20,000)
The "budget" set ups seem to work good on the rocks. and really good for going fast.
There are alot of ways to save money on IFS just need to figure out if the diference is worth the money. SA can be built on the cheap and will still be effective. But at the end of the day im not looking for another rock crawler rig.
nothing is set in stone just weighing options and trying to figure out which way to go. and 2 wheel drive prerunner is not out of the question. I could allways use the rzr to play in the snow and what not.

We talked very briefly about doing IFS with upgrades for the next rig, but decided it was gonna explode our brains.

There were a few threads that I poured over while looking into it:

Bebe's H3 IFS upgrade on pirate. I'm 99% sure the steering rack is late model chevy pickup.
H3 Long Travel Build - Pirate4x4.Com Bulletin Board

And Matt Helton's (BMS offroad) builds like this one
Hawaii 5-0 - Pirate4x4.Com Bulletin Board
or even better this one
http://www.race-dezert.com/forum/sho...ilverado-Build

Sounds like the latest Chevy stuff with a few upgrades gets it done for lower budget IFS. Definitely not as good as the $30K Pro-am setup, but we all can't be Shannon Campbell.

If I run 37 I dont see the point in a 60. I think I can build a 44 to handle 37's at speed.

Then again maybe not.

Johnny, Don't encourage him.

Dana, I have a ton of broken 44 parts around here that would disagree with your plans.

Cut up the 60 and make a 609 if you want to save 50lbs.

just run a stock 60. It would be chepaer than building a 44 that can take speed and WOT assualts at full wheel lock.

This is ifs and irs on what I would call budget. no rack set up, running toyota center sections etc. I was thinking about running a rear center section from an expedition ( 9.75") or a rear section from a corvette (12 bolt center) or the new camaro which is a (14 bolt center). a big expense is the rack and it seems they work just fine with out a rack set up. My biggest hurtle is the knuckles seems as though everyone is custom making them. i have no problem fab'ing the A arms and steering but machining knuckles is another thing...lol

well as it turns out it was a great meeting last night...seen bunch of friends i haven't seen in a long time...anywho we broke up into two committees...one for ifs and one for solid axle and discussed in two separate groups the pros of the axle of the committee we were on. Than after about of hour of brain storming the two groups meet in a well organized debate. Team IFS won the debate!!! Which is cool because that is the committee I was on. Anywho Team IFS held about a 10-15 minute question and answer forum for Team solid after they lost. Then everybody got to work on brain storming the execution plan to incorporate the IFS...I would love to share how we are going to get this system to work but I would rather not as we came up with some really innovative ideas
