83 VW GTI setup for G2 Rally [$2500 obo Auburn Hills]

[$2500 obo Auburn Hills]

I have a 83 VW GTI that has a fresh rebuild, decked head and block (moderate compression can still run on pump gas), Ggrind cam nice wires etc.. Four puck metallic clutch new CV shafts and front bearings. Upper and lower strut ties in the front and a rear upper, new brakes, stainless steel braided brake lines. It has a cage and a race seat new struts used but decent rally tires. New brakes in the rear, hawk pads in the front.

I have alot more information and pictures if anyone is even remotely interested let me know. I would like to clear this out of my garage before this winter. It needs very little work to be a fun car racing or just rallying on dirt roads. I have alot of spare parts.

I drove it yesterday it runs great, I put well over 4K into it.

Wow! You have a 4 puck clutch disk on a street vehicle? Dude that has to be awesome on take off, although probably a little touchy.
I ran a clutch similar to that on my sand rail, it was just to much on hard pack.

if you haven't posted this at waterfordhills, I suggest you give it a try.

:) I'd love to have another of those little rockets, but simply do not have the time to finish it, nor the funds with the van's recent issues, to make you a less than insulting offer for it.

good luck :)

Make me an offer trust me I won't be insulted this is a great car I want to drive it bad but all of a sudden (over the past year and half) I have three kids a wife and not nearly as much free time.

What is the Waterford Hills website? Sorry I was being lazy it is just www.waterfordhills.com damn I am lazy :) thanks I am on there and there is someone looking for an 83 GTI parts car going to email him thanks again.

the four puck clutch is surprisingly good on the street not nearly as touchy as I thought that it would be. It has a 16V flywheel to go with it.

my insulting offer would involve whatever I have in my wallet, plus can scrounge out from under the couch cushions :o

The van's transmission puking could not have come at a much worse time financially speaking. Sadly I am absolutely tapped.

Hopefully the guys at Waterford Hills come through for you.
