Default Auburn Gear LSD (Now With Pics)

So i just received my auburn gear lsd for my chrysler 9.25. I have a question about the way i got it. I have never ordered a locker or lsd unit before but it just seems like something isn't right here. SHould the unit be in plastic in side the box? It has a bunch of grease oozing out of it, and coated with tons of frayed up card board. It looks almost like something sitting on a shelf for a long time but instead of dust its card board inside and out. It was side ways in the box when i opened it also. Should i be concerned about it and calling the place i got it from?

the camera doesnt really pic up all the card board inside and out

did you buy it brand new? if so then yes thats the way they come. when i bought mine for my camaro it came in a box wrapped in a plastic bag with lots of broken up cardboard inside the box as a packing to protect it.

after looking at the pics you posted that looks like crap. mine didn't look like that at all. i got mine from jegs so that might have something to do with it. i would call the place you got it from and question them about it. all you have to do it clean it with some solvent really well and it looks like it will be good.
