The case would crack/break way before this guard bent enough to hit the driveshaft.

Here you go, you will learn to work with it. The real fix is a Tru Hi9, but that's still a ways out for me and my piggy bank :)

Wow, it does look like it is a rock magnet/trail shovel.

I do plan on a strange Hi9 with a 35 spline detroit or arb if I find I hate the spool.

Picked up a 77 hp44 from midnight Ryder on here. He happened to have a 78 f9" that my buddy needed for his bII also.

So today I power washed the 44, I found some things that sort of scarred me.
I also found out why my pictures have been so shitty, somehow my resolution was turned way down on my phone, so they should be allot clearer.

Think this ball joint is from 77?

I think I'm going to gusset the Cs, this scares the hell out of me.

Right?! It's like the original owner had a drive way paved in salt. I may make a truss like gusset at work for them out of some 3/8" steel. Broken Inners is my biggest fear of an axle so who knows.

With some grinding I could get them into shape, but I'm going to see if I can use some square tube I have and do what I found on pirate "I'd post just the pic, but Flickr won't accept it.

So yesterday I got the hubs, spindles and shafts off. Today got some goodies for my 9" and cut the nuts off the ball joints on the front.

Striped.

Instead of fucking with trying to break the nut free, I just cut it off.

Sunday I finally had all of my rear disk brake swap parts, so I decided to do a little mock up to figure out how all the parts went together. So I put all of the caliper parts together, then put the axle shaft in the vice and tryed to put the disk on the flange only to discover the flange was about .5" larger than the inside of the rotor hat. So confused I mad sure I had the right rotors. But after some googling I found it was a 50/50 of guys that had flanges that fit or didn't fit into an '89 bronco rotors.

So with that information, I decided to bring my shafts to work and turn my flange down to 6.5", well as I was removing the wheel bearings I noticed that both flanges looked different. Well it turns out I was both of the 50/50 flanges, one is 7" the other 6.5"? Tho the smaller one is a press fit, so I will take about 1/16" off that one also.

Large flange

Pulled the steering and knuckles off today, this truck was seriously neglected. I think i really might just buy some crane knuckles, this I freaking me out.

I definitely am going to be buying two new knuckles from Reid instead of just the passenger, there is so much missing material on the inside of the knuckle I'm surprised it hadn't failed on the truck it came from.

Got my flanges turned down, he took 1/32 off the small one and matched the other to that, and added a 45 * chafer on the end.
