Haha, Yup! That's the reason I decide on the 44/9 setup so I could run 5.13 s. I was goog to do an 30/8.8 but the 4.88s in the 30 seemed to blow out a lot and I did not want that.

Small update.

My plans for the front axle have changed slightly. I originally was going to find a non cast wedge HPd44, buy full tricked out truss from T&T with all link tabs mounts and such already on it so I could just burn it in, and toss it right in that way I could keep my short arms untill the money came around to go long arm.

But after a suggestion from "VAhasnoWAVES" I may go with the Ferd Radius arm setup. Not only is everything cheeper this route, finding a cast wedge 44 is easy and I will be able to go longarm at the same time.

The only problem I see here is the weak cast wedge, and the apparent unloading on hill climbs. The latter doesn't bother me much, and as for the wedge im looking into some sort of truss, or maby sleeve the inside?

anyway.

The CB I acquired from a friend old as dirt but it works. I'm going to make a bracket to mount it to the stock over head console bracket. Next is a fire stick in the stock radio antenna location..

Started opening up holes for the in the frame bumper mounts.
Before

after

THESE ARE NOT MINE! they were made by "EricsXJ" on NAXJA, but I am going to do the same style.

Well, it's about time to start adding some crap to this build. This is in no particular order at the moment just bringing he tread up to date.

At first I thought I wanted to make a bumper, but I decided against it, I got a raise at my shop and I lost a fiancée so ill be able to buy a lot more and keep the rig alot cleaner and not just a big nasty mess.

Not bad for a novice stick weld.

Test fit, that's as far as that got, it may bee a good front bumper for my DD tho.

My new buddy.

Untitled by xj bmx

I picked up a sound bar that is going to go directly above my head so I can hear the radio with the doors off, and to keep the speakers above water in the event of a nasty mud hole ore water crossing on the trail. I may pickup one more to put all the way forward also. It's also going to be nice to have a dome light.

Just ordered a set of rear frame stiffeners from HD offroad. I also called RuffStuff to find out were my order for the disk swap brackets and pinion guard were. I guess the guards were on backorder, so I had them just send the brackets for now so I can attest get the axle sand blast and painted toss that in.

I'm ordering a set of Trailready bead locks in he next week or two, I'm trying to decide between the classic rock ring and the world series ring. They say the WS ring is lighter and balanced I may call them and see what's up with that.

RuffStuff pinion guard and disk swap brackets came. My Jeep is starting to be full of parts, I think I'm going to take a weekend off and put some of this crap together.

RuffStuff disk swap brackets by xj bmx

This thing is beef, as much as I rather of got the GLO guard, I didn't like that it had a bend on the bottom, I feel this will do better to slide over things than dig a point in.
I think I'm going to take it to work and machine the mounting surface flat since it was gone over some what sloppy with a grinder, it may not be needed but o well.

It will dig in, I refer to mine as " the shovel". It will however protect the pinion very well, mine has been beat to crap and it only scratched on the bottom side.

Pinion guards are great as long as you dont land on it right and jam it up into the drive shaft tube.

Oh, well wonderful. Have you had this happen? I imagine this thing cracking my center section, or pinion support before the 1/2" ring or 3/8" skid bend up.
