Nice work on that front bumper. I'm not a big fan of the look of stingers, but that is a very nice execution...the aesthetics work well.

USE .250 WALL 2x6 TUBE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lay the 2x6 flat and it will help protect the doors and handles.
You will bend the thinner tube and the doors will not work.

Mine bent and now the b post has compressed at the bottom. I cannot get the front door back on unless I pull the slider down on a frame rack.
Great job!
Nice clean build.

I plan to have supports running from the rockers to the frame, after I weld some HD engineering frame stiffeners on. The supports will be angled and then covered in in 1/2" UHMW to help with distribution of impact and sliding off rocks. I plan on tying the cage into the rockers and supports as well. But nothing is set in stone I'm open to changing it up if this isn't going to work.

Well I broke my hand so progress has been a bit slow.
Test fit the doors after cutting 2" off the bottom of them.

Decided to add some tube to protect the doors some.

Try to get the other side wrapped up this weekend.

That looks good I like the way the tube wraps all the way around.

got pics of the doors after cutting?? did you have to weld them closed? add material?

And got any pics before burning the tube in?

I've got some 2x6 that i am going to replace my rockers with, but i am not sure how high i want to go.

It opens a section about the length of the door 1.75" wide. I closed it using some .032" thick sheet metal that I bent a 90 degree half inch lip on. This way I had a nice radius to fill to as I welded the bottom of the door skin to the patch piece. I didn't take any pics of the process on the passenger side doors but I'll grab a few as I do the drivers side.

I went as high as I could without having to start doing major reworking to the doors. You could probably go an 1" higher and completely replace the bottom of the door and keep the windows still retracting all the way.

I will be doing this to my Heep sometime. The bottom of my doors are going and the rockers are going (rusting). Thanks for the good info and pics.

Dropped the gas tank back out. pulled the 8.25 rear end out of the jeep for the last time. Removed the springs and started cutting off the old spring mounts. I'll be using 63" Chevy springs to stretch the wheel base 5".

Since my frame (sortof) has not enjoyed the rocks to much I started the frame stiffeners. Be doing the inside and outside of the center section.
