Default anybody know about the new ford "keep it simple" a plan deal?

So, I'm looking at getting another truck.. I called dealer "A" last friday and received a quote on a LR-3. I was told that I should be able to get X plan, but I would have to know somebody that works at ford to get the A plan.

So I called dealer "B" and they told me the same thing, except they were 3100 dollars cheaper on the exact same truck.

Dealer A calls me today and asks me how my truck search is going, and I told him I found one for way cheaper at dealer B. He then tells me that his dealership is now allowed to give A-plan to everybody because of the new "keep it simple plan" that ford is offering on all lines of vehicles.

I call back dealer B, and they tell me that guy is smoking rocks.

Any info?

dealers can sell for whatever the hell they want, A plan, X plan or no plan. It's their car, essentially on lease from Ford Credit until somone buys it.

There are MANY Lincoln LS's at the dealer in Dearborn that they will sell for 3K under A plan just to move them. It costs them about 14 dollars a day (in lease alone) that it sits on the lot. A lof of them have been on the lot for about a year.... thats a lot of money they are losing.

Botoom line, just buy from whoever is cheapest. Plans are gimics to get you in the door.

If you need an X plan pin, let me know.

I'd drive a LS8. I'd drive it more if it was available with a stick.

Sounds like you're a Ford guy, but my gf just went shopping. With X plan (or whatever they call the A plan that retirees get) they quoted her 270 mo for a Focus with 10.5k/yr. Went to the Chrysler dealer. Same everything except 12k miles on a PT and its 200/mo (always zero down) with employee choice (A plan for DCX basically). Thats a HUGE diff. For 270 we could have gotten into a Wrangler with 6cyl, hardtop, and A/C.

Just saying - you might want to cross shop brands as well as dealers.

We administer Keep It Simple. Keep it simple is Xplan pricing. With incentives some vehicles are cheaper than A plan pricing with Keep It Simple. If you need an X Plan Pin we administer that as well and we can get you one.. legally :D

Sorry.

I thought that the trout slap was directed towards me.
After re-reading the post, I have decided that trout slap was not actually directed in my direction.

Hopefully you will accept my apology

A-plan cannot be "given" to anyone without a pin only obtained by an employee or spouse of employee. Pin's can only be used for the applicable immediate family members. Dealers that give A-plans to unauthorized persons lose their franchise rights.

Now, pricing like A-plan is another matter. A-plan is a fixed % off invoice of like 3%. It varies based on model depending on what we are overproducing. X-plan is also fixed slightly less than A. The "Keep is Simple" sales promotion was not able to be used with A-plan pricing since with A-plan you cannot use most deals. That sales plan was supposed to have terminated back in October. Whether the dealer is conitnuing on their own is entirely up to them. Many dealers cut prices even lower than the sale actually offered which resulted in many prices below A-plan. This is again entirely up to the dealer.

The LR3 is actually a rock solid little SUV. It's a much better design than previous LR products with many age-old nagging LR problem's removed.

That was a lighthearted comment of mine. Based on what I've seen, they're equipment is solid. I just have issues with the image they portray, that is all.
