Well mike's car is running great. Don't have much info on bill but he's been prerunning. Jess & I have 2 days of hard wheeling in. So far I've been fortunate. Jess has blown a driveshaft & an axle shaft. He says it's because he is trying harder lines than me. NOT.

glad to be home... left Friday around 9:30 got home Monday around 1:30am still hacking on the dust! Thursday night at back door was Great! who new Toyota's could be beat that hard? or that the locals built small fires in the hills to stay warm while watching the beat downs, and holy smokes can those 50" lights light up a canyon I can see now why they cost $1500.00...
so whats the lowdown on the trucks from Michigan how did you do?

Bill rolled above Backdoor and caught on fire destroying his wiring harness on the first lap.
Mike broke axle shafts on Outer Limits during the second lap.

This race is a brutal test of man and machine. Mike had 2 flat tires, a blown brake line, threw a belt that had to be replaced, had flopped once and spent 45 minutes getting upright and when he broke in Outer Limits, it was helping the guy who finished 17th.

Simply wow!

I rolled and tried to self-right the rig with the engine running for about 20 seconds with 0 oil pressure before some spectators started yelling fire. I really thought I had it back over too. Scariest moment in racing I have ever had.

It took Tim and I well over an hour to get the rig flipped back over, take inventory of the situation, scoop up the oily-sand into a container, collect ourselves and get back into the car. We then drove the rest of resolution, backdoor and the last couple miles back into pits on less than 1 qt of oil. At the main pits (end of lap 1) we spent 20 minutes or so trying to prep for the second lap of the hardest race on earth. We made it to race mile marker 9 and the throttle pedal stuck. No warning, not even a little "catchyness" (I just made that word up). Just 100% stuck.

My motor hates life right now. I think I'm going to leave it for the first TREC race to really give it a full durability test though.

We called the race there and limped back to hammertown at 3 mph. Had a beer and started thinking about next year.
