Default Sled buying market value ?

I am looking at a 2003 Polaris XC SP 600 with 1600 miles and a 2004 550 SS with reverse/electric start with 1100 miles. Both are in excellent shape with no studs. I have been away from the sport for the last 15 years and don't really know what they are worth. Is $5,000 a fair price?

Thanks
Tim

$4500 with a trailer is a fair price...same sleds i bought 3 yrs ago with a trailer for $4500, however I was in the 2500 mile range. I sold the 550 SS as soon as I got home for $2000 and bought my wife a 2001 XCSP 500. I'm not a big fan of the Polaris 550 fan motor. I love the 600, rides great and plenty of power...the 500 is not much slower than the 6...it surprises me everytime I ride that thing...even though i have studs, i prefer not having studs

Thanks for the information. The price is for the machines only, Looks like it may be a little high. I have searched Ebay with little results and hate craigslist. I guess I will have to pick up an autotrader thursday.

The edge chassis is awesome in my opinion, and while I would love a brand new sled, as much as I get out to ride I cannot justify the costs. I get 3-6 trips a year and that just not worth it to me...so back to the sled in question, for that price I might even think about buying it even though I dont need it.

I can see me riding mine for another 5yrs or so

edge chassis was great i just couldn't get over how small the foot wells were towards the back.

that 600 motor will run forever, i've seen quite a few of them over 8000 miles without any work at all.

I will also add if you are looking for parts, DO NOT give Motorcity Powersports any business at all. Those fuckstains quoted me $90 for a $27 primary spring...I ended up just ordering it from Babbits
