Default 00 Xterra SE

My name is Chris and I've got a 2000 Nissan Xterra SE. I've slowly been modding the X and I'm looking to find some more places to do a little bit of wheeling. I'm in Dayton, OH and primarily hit Haspin Acres (Laurel, IN) and most recently Coal Creek (TN)

Most recent pic

Build: 2000 Nissan Xterra SE 4x4 Auto, 3.3L V6
1.5" Suspension Lift
2" Body Lift
31"x10.5" Dynapro MTs
Rocky Road Sliders
4 Hella 500 Lights
Yakima Load Warrior
Uniden Bearcat 68XL CB Radio
RLC Front Bumper
Smittybilt XRC-8 Winch w/ Synthetic Rope

I'm new to this forum and still fairly new to off roading but looking to learn a lot more!

Added a front bumper (RLC Welding & Fabrication) and 8,000 lb Smittybilt XRC-8 winch. Then got it out to a local place called Thrashing Trails. No big rocks or anything, but enough to play around a little

Went to Coal Creek this past weekend, and got to see a group of mogs out, and one happened to be next to our cabin

And here are a couple pics of the X

I currently just have the cranked torsion bars and shackle combo as far as suspension is concerned. I'm hoping to upgrade my UCAs at some point it just hasn't happened yet. And yup, I am also "xearth" on club xterra

Little bit of trail damage from another trip to Big Rock:

Was going up a pretty steep and slick trail that you needed speed to get thru, but then had a 180 degree downturn that was fairly tight between two trees. Needless to say my driver fender and rear door were formally introduced

And just a couple old ones in black and white because it's fun to mess with them on occasion:

How many trails are open to run vehicles on @ big rock now? We used to go down there with our quads quite a bit, saw on there web site that they have a "jeep" trail now.

This is on the jeep trail or whatever they call it:

The quality isn't the best but it gives you an idea of what else there is now. It's a decently long stretch thru the creek and I think they have bypasses on either side. There was another "waterfall" obstacle that was a higher drop off than this one that we weren't feeling bold enough to go down

I think throughout the whole day we ended up doing just a little under 20 miles, and at least I enjoyed the jeep trail more than anything especially with the creek section

After the side of the X took a pounding at Big Rock I have been slightly tentative to get back on the trails. A trip to the Wilds open normally to Land Rovers had extended the invitation to any vehicle so I pounced! But alas, too slow... I didn't see the registration window had already closed, but the itch was back. I had to get back on the trails again, and it just so happens that I recently picked up a new camera (Samsung NX1000 with the kit lens + the 50-200mm)

Not only was this run my first without another vehicle, it was the first for Kosar (the pup, named after Bernie Kosar as my fiance finds some way to root for the Browns) as well. I've always wanted to bring him along before but in the past we've traveled much further and he hasn't proven he can do well on long rides. This was the time for him to prove himself tho. Thrashing Trails is identifiable by their "Green Goblin" marking the entrance of the park, otherwise it would be very easy to just keep on driving by.

The place is mostly filled with quads and bikes so we occasionally receive an odd look or two commonly followed by "Are you driving that Jeep down the trails? You know it's gonna get muddy right?"

A smirk and a nod is always my reply.

One of my favorite features of this new camera that I'm not used to is the continuous shooting mode. I can't help but giggle holding down the shutter and having 8 shots burst off in a row. I think the sequence was below was easily my favorite of the day

Overall, it was a good run. No damage, some good photos, decision making that didn't turn out to bite me in the ass. A good day indeed.
