Aftermarket NP231C Shifter

I found an aftermarket NP231J shifter by Novak, but it says it is not compatible with the 231C due to a different bolt pattern. I can't see exactly where it bolts on in the pictures to figure out if I can modify it.

I HATE the factory 700r4/231C shifter and would like to replace it. Has anyone found or used an aftermarket shifter for the 231C?

It bolts to the studs on the front of the transfer case (that you use to bolt the t/c to the transmission).

I haven't used one for the 231C, but I've used one with an adapter for the 700R4 to NP231J and it required just the slightest modification.

Good to know. If Adam doesn't have luck modifying mine I will try that route.

I am in the middle of a 1997 TJ build. I just got the 4.3 motor 700R4 and NP231C Tcase installed. I ordered the Novak Tcase shift cable Friday. Will be here Thursday of this week. Once I get it installed I will post pics. I know I will have to modify the bracket at the Tcase.

I installed the Novak transfercase shift cable onto my NP231C in my 97TJ. See pics.
Very easy modification. All I had to do is bend the top peice of the bracket and weld a extention to so it would bolt to the factory GM bracket.
