In general I would agree with her because I think conservatives are better people in general. I don't agree that all of Obama's family didnt suffer through discrimination. I am kind of horrified she said it though.

Conservative blacks suffer discrimination from their own community and also from the white community.

I sort of agree with her and I do agree with how you are percieving it, but I can't believe we are comparing who has the better blacks and why....

Not singling you out... Just this aspect of the conversation.

First... Its Ann Coulter. Shes no different than Rush or Beck in that they are entertainers. Asking the questions that need to be asked, but doing it in a theatrical fashion.

Second... Its a logical end to the game we are playing right now. On one hand there were scores of people that voted for Obama just because he was black. Now we have media pundits suggesting that Cain will get the right wing vote, just because hes black. Obama's was historic, ours is supposed to be because of white guilt. Either is racist. While a bit over the top, it will illuminate some of the hypocrisy in the media between Obama and Cain, who voted for them and why.

So many ways to go with this...

First, yes, Ann Coulter is an entertainer, just like Hannity, Rush, Beck, and Olbermann and all the others. They say what they do to get people to watch them and buy their books. I don't care much about what they say.

Second, what does race have to do with any of this? Why did Ann Coulter feel the need to "play the race card"? I don't think she did Cain any favors by doing this. Her comments will just bring more attention to the story.

I agree that it's probably true that it's tougher for a black person to be a conservative, so if that make someone feel that makes them "better" fine, I don't care. I do not think that any one race, creed, color, or political persuasion to be "better people". Every group has terrific people, and horrible people.

Mostly, I can't believe how horribly the Cain campaign has handled this sexual harassment issue. It's obvious that there is some truth to the story, he was accused of sexual harassment. I don't care about that. I was once accused of sexual harassment. I know how those things can happen. Cain had to know that there was at least a chance it would be brought up. And apparently Politico gave him 10 days warning that they were going to bring that story out. Why was he so completely unprepared for it? He had to know that once the story broke that it would snowball. Why deny the truth that will come out eventually?

All he had to do was when it was first brought up say something like "Yes, many years ago I was accused of sexual harassment. It was (blah blah blah misunderstanding regrettable incident insert more weasel words blah blah blah) and I learned ( blah blah blah be careful professional blah blah blah)". I think most people would have appreciated the straightforward honesty and the idea that he's a better person as a result of this incident could have been a positive.

He's acting like he still has more to hide. Rest assured if he does someone will dig it out.

I agree with you brewmann, I don't think her comments were necessary (about race, I couldn't care less), nor do I think they helped cain's cause.

As for the sexual harrassment, I couldn't much care less about that either. EVERY single one of the politicians in washington has some sort of sexual scandal, money laundering scandal, etc. None of them are squeaky clean, it's a dirty game. I really don't care.
