Default Tach hookup

I have a 94 F150 with the 300 ci six, where would I hook up an aftermarket (Sun, if it matters) tach to the ignition? GM's HEI has a dedicated tach output, but I see nothing marked as such on this.

Generally the tach wire is spliced into the negative side of the coil primary circuit.

Thanks, i'll try that. I was thinking along those lines but didn't want to risk killing the ignition module.

Still don't know why this truck has a 5 speed and no tach, my 89 has one.

there should be a tach wire running into the gauge cluster. i can check up with my school's program to find out the color and location of it.
