Talking Why you should use a tow truck

This lady put her car ( pt cruiser ) off the edge of there private drive . You can see its not stuck very much but instead of calling Gman first she let her hubby try to pull it out . This pt was not damaged going in , Its from the husbands attempt to take it out .

This is an excellent example of why I haven't attempted to pull anyone out of the snow in the last 20 years.
No reliable tow points.

There are plenty... you just have to roll a little further under most new cars

If it were my vehicle I would at least give it a shot myself before paying someone to come do it.

We have all pulled out tons of vehicles. Most of the time its not rocket science. Find a solid point, most vehicles have a couple because they need to be strapped to a truck, hook up your strap, and try to ease it out.

Or if you don't like the person and they ask for help, hook up to something like a trac bar or control arm, and yank the hell out of it.

Maybe if they cleaned the snow off the thing before they tried driving it, they wouldn't have driven into the ditch in the first place... Duh.
