Default frameless soft top

i have decided i am going to sell my hardtop and go with a soft top. hard top is just becoming a pain but i hate the look of the yj framed softops. i found one that i am thinking about it is called a softopper. figured i would post it up here to get your guy's opinions. if anyone has one that would be even better!

I was behind a jeep on the highway with one of these, It looked really good but had that bubble look from the wind. all the windows were pretty tight but the roof was "bubbled" up about 6"

I have the new version of the Bestop Trektop for my JK and love it. I still have my hardtop but got rid of my factory soft top and the frame when this one arrived.

There are a couple of drawbacks I've seen with the frameless soft tops - the biggest being that it can be a PITA to open the back window up if you just want to throw something large in there and then put the window back in quickly. It's hard to explain without actually showing the project.

I'm not familiar with the Softoper brand but I think Bestop makes one for the YJ as well (too lazy to verify right now and headed out the door to lunch).

Rampage also makes a frameless top, but not yet for a yj. Maybe before spring if we're lucky. They are a hundred bucks cheaper than softopper's. I plan on getting one myself. They do require a rounded hard top style door, fyi.

They sound pretty cool. Are they supposed to be easier to put up and down than a factory style??

I bought a Softopper for my YJ this spring. It took some getting used to compared to my old Supertop, but so far I really like it. Installation was pretty easy and the top is put together very well.

The Softopper is also made in the USA, not a common thing these days.

The rounded soft upper seals against their frame. It is done like the TJ door surround.
